In two weeks, every Darkfall account will be reactivated to participate in a free weekend with accelerated skilling and great loot.

More details on this next week, along with a development update.

Most likely this is happening becouse they will finnaly have some real news (most likely a eta)  about the hyped expansion darkfall 2.0 wich should fix all problems, add alot more content, improve visuals  and would make the game alot more enjoyable for everyone instead of the 24/7 hardcore gamer.

Thats why its still up and running?

Yes AV isnt the best but if you have played the game for some time you can easily see this game has ALOT of potentional and it is AV that created that.

I'll probably try it again, but not looking forward to the first day setting up all my binds again, then writing autohotkey macros from scratch.  Wish I had those backed up.

a lot of potentional with slowest development team in the history of MMO gaming, hands down.

That last patch almost got me playing again, and if they had just did that patch last year (since 99%of that shit we have been asking for since beta) darkfall would another 5k+ subs.

I heard they are going to do a wipe with 2.0 so whats the point.

I hope they plan to take all inactive characters out of storage prior to the free time, or this weekend will be full of fail. Considering it's av...they won't, and it will be.

Well then.  Looks like I shall re-download the game to my new system.  Maybe having 200 more FPS will help with my RL skill problems.

Awesome! i never deinstalled the game, i seriously love the game, i just don't have enough time to actually enjoy Darkfall apart from holidays :s

With all the veterans having max skills at everything and AV still doing absolutely nothing about people macroing skills 24/7, I can hardly see a reason to come back, even though I do like the basic game mechanics.

Would also love to see them greately improve the UI to the point where using third-party software to make it useful is possible. If those are in, I'll consider coming back...

Broken game does not equal = " for the hardcore"

Shooting in to the sky for skillgains

Shooting AFK players againsts a wall for skillgains

Shooting stationary mobs

Shooting mobs agro'd on unreachable mounts for skillgains (still currently being used 24/7)

Shooting mobs stuck/spwn'd in or on geometry for skillgains (still currently being used 24/7)

Macro'ing againsts a trial account (still currently being used 24/7)

it was Aventurines fault for not addressing most of these issues for the first year+ that caused the players to call for semi-safe zones that they could skill up as intended.

Like I stated before, as a vet I did all those things because you either did them and competed or got rolled plain and simple, and the first two years there wasnt a vet player who didnt.

Fantastic idea and I do love Darkfall but a perfect example of how not to run a MMO and in fact destroy your game by Aventurine.

What do you mean take all inactive out of storage?

When you don't play for a couple months, they put your character into a seperate memory storage. And you have to contact support to get them out.

You must be in complete denial. People who wanted darkfall in the first place knew it was full loot. They knew it was ffa. I'm sure some people quit because of getting griefed for hours, but everyone knows what there getting into when they buy darkfall. Where are all of these supposed people who thought Darkfall was a themepark wow game? Oh, thats right, no one ever did. That was the reason this game had buzz in the first place.

 People quit darkfall because of all the exploiting, all the grind, all the balance issues, no skill cap, lack of sandbox features, lack of gameplay options, horrible coding (no multi-core support?!), bad ui, and av's incompetence. Not because they wanted it to be "wow".
