I love that this is a very niche game for the hardcore only. I'm kind of leary though, especially since I keep hearing about this Darkfall 2.0 thing. Is it worth starting before those changes happen (if they ever do)?

Agreed, until they decide what they're really going to do with DF 2.0 its really not worth looking into at this point in time IMO.
