I bought you a keyboard and setup your controls for you.
The End. NEWS FLASH! A bank was robbed the other day and a man opened fire on the customers being held hostage. One customer zig-zag sprinted until he found cover. When questioned later he explained that he was a hardcore Darkfall Online player and knew just what to do. |

I played DF on the first month and stopped because I didn't want to macro. I'll probably play it again when specialization is more important than or equal to hybridity. |

Originally posted by Orious After 2.0 you won't need as many spells/skills used by everyone so my setting up your keyboard wouldn't matter as much.
Seriously though this game is really fun how it is once you have a good setup for it and once you get used to it you may find it much harder to log into other games because they don't have nearly as many buttons to press.
^ This is the funnest keyboard to use in my opinion. Other games are so slow in comparison . .. NEWS FLASH! A bank was robbed the other day and a man opened fire on the customers being held hostage. I'd play it if I didn't feel the need to macro while AFK to get skills progressing. I don't really care if you don't NEED to, I just got the feeling I would have to, even to join a decent clan. Plus the devs have always seemed so freaking slow about changing/updating the game. These are just my perceptions. If I didn't perceive DF this way, I would be playing it. I do have an account and I bought the game on sale for $20. I did like the game, even though everyone I met out in the game world utterly destroyed me. Only some dry-looted me though :D |

-Not tempt me to use illegal AFK botting programs. Sounds like 2.0 is going to do something about it. -Linear and rotational inertia so lag exploits can't be used, and so battles look cooler. Linear and rotational inertia for NPC's also. Sounds like 2.0 is going to do something about it. -An unstructured player housing system, not regimented into zones. The goal of owning land is proximity to valuable natural resources, regimented housing in zones negates that advantage, you know how developers are "Everything has to be perfectly equal.". And the goal of war is to invade someone else's land to acquire those natural resources. -Less stories on Darkfall forums on how there is nothing but random ganking for no reason whatsoever. If I am going to be ganked than it damn well better have context. I want to be ganked by roleplaying pirates, roleplaying highwaymen, or in a war, or trespassed into someone's territory after being given a warning to leave and I dont' leave; not be ganked by some brat that's angry cause he was grounded by his mamma.

But some of us, like me (and most of the haters), can't FPS their way out of a paper bag. Darkfall is the only game you can excel quickly (ie: own face) if you are REALLY good at FPS. Like Fatal1ty. Fatal1ty could log in with a brand new character and own a vet who cant FPS well, like Spear Chucker (Spear admits he can't play FPS games well, but loves to craft and loves full loot.. how odd is that?). That is the biggest problem with Darkfall. Its FPS. The definition of insanity: doing the same thing over and over expecting different results. When will developers (and players) become sane? Now go eat some grass like everyone else. |

Originally posted by Sid_Vicious You mean, after you have grinded for hundred of hours on boring uninspired mobs, afk skills, and farmed gold to meditate, right?Because if not, darkfall is one of the slowest games I've ever played. The pvp is fast and fun, but nothing else in the game is. |

DFs problem is really that it is buggy, badly coded and miss the polish of AAA MMOs. It also have badly dated graphics. The rest of the game can be the best ever but most people can't really look past that. If the game had a great programmer and some better art it would be a lot more popular. |

Originally posted by Sid_Vicious I doubt it. DFO provided some fun PvP but not much else. Themepark and Sandbox players alike are left wanting in DFO. 90% of the people that don't like DFO likely wouldn't play it if you bought there keyboard, set it up and payed their monthly fee. For what DFO is it's fun. But it's just not a full game which doesn't do it for me, at least it wasn't when I left and from what I've read it still isn't.

Darkfall is yet another example of short sighted development in regards to the creation of sandboxes. Does it do what the developers want? Sure. Does it do what players want? Not really. It's a fine game, one I really enjoyed when the servers were full near the beginning of release, but why center the majority of the game's focus around PvP? By definition, sandboxes are games that simply offer more choice and freedom to the players, and there's really none of that in this game. Even when it comes to skills, there's no choice involved. You simply level everything, because that's what everyone else does, and to enter PvP without a character who's sufficiently capable with archery, magic, or melee is going to get yourself killed more times than not (I understand the game is twitch based, amazing gamers can do amazing things with varying skill levels). The point I'm getting at is that for a game which is advertised as a sandbox, you really don't have many choices that actually effect your gameplay if you don't want to PvP. Not to mention, the PvE is weak as hell and could use some serious improvements, or anything at all that would draw players who aren't entirely focused on PvP into the game. Don't get me wrong, I personally enjoy PvP quite a bit, but to build a game around that concept exclusively seems to keep the majority of players away.
I would porbably like Darkfall more if it: had a skill cap, and offered choices for activities that didn't ultimately relate to PvP. "Citizens, either by birth or choice, of a common country, that country has the right to concentrate your affections. The name of American, which belongs to you, in your national capacity, must always exalt the just pride of Patriotism, more than any appellation derived from local discrimination." -George Washington |

Originally posted by stayontarget DF has the most stable code of any indepedend developer title and in fact i did experience more crashes with $OE games then with DF. Of course it makes a difference if you have 100 programmer working on bugs and polish or 10 or less like in case of DF . It is also factual wrong about them using UE3 engine. They did code their own engine. -----MY-TERMS-OF-USE-------------------------------------------------- "There was suppression of speech and all kinds of things between disturbing and fascistic." If it was only about the keys... Lack of content is the main-reason why noone wants to play this game. And if I wanna play a shooter I can do so without a monthly sub. And go away with your shitty keyboard and buy yourself an Ergodex DX-1, a Logitech G13 or a Razor Nostromo, if you wanna brag with your hardware. |

I would like them to: 1. make a better crafting with more items and customisation and maybe add some mini-games for gathering resources (something like XIV) 2. Improve housing and clan towns (Getting a house in DF is hell, and there is not much u can do with it) 3.add more "fluff" (more mounts, more critters, house items,...) |

if they would fix the goddamn bunnyhopping nonsense. Then I would resub tomorrow. Localized banking would make traveling around require more forethought and with the amount of people playing now, that might not be a good thing. DF has/had alot of promise, but that damn bunnyhopping shit is terrible. Looking forward to what they implement in 2.0. Playing: BF3, Prototype and Skyrim |
