I dont know how many of you played Shadowbane but if you did is this game similar to it |

Overall nothing like Shadowbane if you ask me. Maybe little similarities like teritorrial control and looting enemy players, but just that. If you liked Shadowbane you probably liked to some great extend for the awesome customisation it had. Darkfall does not have customisation, everyone is the same. |

No. Pther then open world pvp this game shares nothing with Shadowbane. And its a damn shame.. Refugee from UO,EQ,AC,AC2,AO,DAOC,L2,SB,HZ,CoH,PT,EQ2,WoW,VG,SWG,EVE,WAR,DF,MO,AI,GA, LOTRO... |

DF is an fps game with open world pvp, full loot, conquest.
I personally hated shadowbane, that game was so broken. Played DF trial for 2 weeks none stop. Check out my pvp video during trial.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJnU_JEqKRM |

I think that it is a hell of a lot funner than shadowbane in every way besides the class balance but its much harder but I only played it on the emulator so I havent seen the glory days.
In Darkfall you are either a mage of everything or specialize in melee/archery.
Ways to customize are choosing what melee/archery specs (+damage vs mage, +resist vs magic, etc), offensive spell specs (jumpshot, longer range, faster, etc.), race, gear (enchants), and 2-hd weapon type (almost everyone uses both 2hd melee and 1hd melee only for parrying or mounted combat). There is no limit to how many spells, etc. you can have unless you unlock the most powerful archery/melee specs which block magic. Much more to come with Darkfall 2.0 whenever that comes out.
Shadowbane's combat is very primitive compared to Darkfall because its tab-targeting auto-attack but it has more diversity. In Darkfall theres sieges, mounted combat, naval combat, bunny-hopping, and weapons of mass destruction (flamethrower, cannon, etc.).
No doubt in my mind that Darkfall is currently the best PVP game if you are a gamer because it provides an adrenaline rush that other games cannot match. I am pretty sure that everyone who has played it felt their heart pounding more than any other game out there because its hard, fast-paced, PVP is not as often as no-risk games, sometimes startling, while the winner takes all. NEWS FLASH! A bank was robbed the other day and a man opened fire on the customers being held hostage. One customer zig-zag sprinted until he found cover. When questioned later he explained that he was a hardcore Darkfall Online player and knew just what to do. |
