Greetings, I've been hard at work trying to make another cool tool for Darkfall. This time, I've come up with the PvE Tracker! In a nutshell, the PvE tracker keeps track of what you loot and skin when you're out farming. After you're done (ie, when you exit Darkfall), you can view statistics about what you looted etc on the Mercfall website. For example, you can calculate the gold-per-hour you earn while out farming, or calculate how many enchanting reagents you can farm. In return, info about your skins and loot is used to keep mob tables for the Hitchhiker's Guide to Agon map up-to-date. The PvE Tracker is just one plugin for the new Mercfall Companion platform I've been working on. Assuming Aventurine doesn't ban the whole project outright, I'll work on adding more plugins that offer exciting new functionality in the future. AV has shown they will allow non-cheating related addons in the past, and have issued a statement to that effect. You can read the statement here: http://www.mercfall.net/aventurinePolicy http://www.mercfall.net/companionInfo

Promise you wont put any key-loggers or anything on my machine?

Hard to trust a stranger . .. especially with all the recent hacked accounts.
You should have put that in your poll because I cannot answer it. heh NEWS FLASH! A bank was robbed the other day and a man opened fire on the customers being held hostage. One customer zig-zag sprinted until he found cover. When questioned later he explained that he was a hardcore Darkfall Online player and knew just what to do. |

Hmm... you're right. With all the recent account hacking, why would people trust a program I wrote to not hack their computer? I suppose I don't really have an answer for that other than to assure you that I'm not interested in your passwords, and that my software contains no trojans, keyloggers, or other malware. Normally, I'm a big fan of open source and under more normal circumstances, I'd gladly open-source this project. That would easily lay to rest any security concerns. But given that I had to employ some sophisticated programming techniques to make this project work, I'd hate to see those techniques abused by less ethical developers if I were to release the source code. I guess you'll either have to trust me, or just not use the PvE Tracker. I promise I won't try to steal your passwords. =)
EDIT: sadly, I don't think I can change the poll options. |
