Lets face it, MMOs today are turning into single player console games with a chat box included.

Going by numbers which would be the best MMORPG ever made, again ?

The elite is always a minority.

You are giving yourself too much credit by calling yourself elite. Darkfall has such a low population compared to combined subscribers in the entire genre, I expect the percentage of elite players in Darkfall to look something like this.

.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001%

You mean a self-proclaimed elite ? A minority you are for sure.

Every mmorpg's that cost 15$ a month that got more subs then DF get advertised like crazy BTW. You will never see DF on TV. You never saw a DF add on any website. You cant buy it on steam. Why? Because AV are not selling out. Independant like they are, that far, they are making some good profit since they dont need to spend money to get exposed everywhere.

Played DF trial for 2 weeks none stop. Check out my pvp video during trial.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJnU_JEqKRM

Haha, yes. They should put their balls where their mouth is.

I know DF have alot of flaws, but I also know it`s most likely better than what they are playing. I wish Arcken and the other would tell us what games they like and are currently playing. I bet we could have a laugh bashing those games. I think Darkfall is the best of the mmos we currently have, and that fact makes me somewhat sad.

Aventurine did advertise close to it's launch on MMORPG.com if I recall. DarkFall may not be available on Steam, but it is available on many websites like D2D.  Also, I don't see how selling on steam=AV selling out. What you just said makes no sense. AV either does not make enough money to advertise (or does not want  take the risk), are leaving the advertising to the players, or are waiting for the "re-launch" to advertise the game.  That's why AV is not advertising.

Ive rekindled my affair with FFXI, and play some Gemstone, which is a mud.

Ive given up on all the garbage this stangnant genre is puking up at alarming speed.

Not advertising isnt a strength. Its a terrible failing. I wish people would just understand once and for all that the more people know about Darkfall the more people would try it out.

Not really, it can be called and RPG imo since their is 0 people around the area you start in. Also judging on how little instruction you have when fired into the game.

Free to play means pay to win.

In DarkFall's case, I think not advertising is what's keeping the game afloat. The game is in such a terrible state that if more players were to play the game in it's current form, they'd leave as quickly as they joined with no intention to ever return. Waiting until the re-launch would allow Aventurine to improve the game and then advertise so more players would join. Although....that will never happen if Aventurine continues to pull off half-assed systems all the time without thinking their ideas through.

Of course it would bring more revenue to AV, but despite the revenue they haven't shown any capacity to improve significantly DarkFall, which has caused the population to dwindle down constantly since Launch. So not advertising and at least keeping whatever is left of their playerbase might have been the better option for them. The game feels more like a Closed Beta, so until they launch, not really worth it to advertise.

Yeah

And the main problem is, AV dont got the time to play their own game with all the work they have to do. They got few developers and 0 testers. In fact, we are the testers. So this is why added features are not perfect the 1st time. Right now, they have to rely on our opinion before they work on something new.

Anyway, DF will never be ready for the mass. Advertising will simply make it worst no matter what. Not enough ppl can handle open world pvp full loot where even a 24 hour old newb can get griefed to death. Even if we manage to get load of players after a mass of advertisment, new games will keep draining these players untill AV become free because they already spend too much money on advertising. To regen from their loss, they will be forced to carebear up the game and they will finally lose the former player base. If they do recover afterwards, it will just be an other sad day for the hardcore fans like me. The DF developers are gamers themselves and they follow their vision before anything else so they dont want to rely on carebearing up the game in order to save it.

The game is just not even complete yet. Quests are useless to do (excluding dailies and title) They are basically like torturial to teach you how to play and to explore. So basically, to advance in darkfall, you have to do the same task every day instead. Wake up, kill a spawn for an hour and you are done for the day. The mass will get tired of this pretty quick.

You have to join a clan in darkfall or you are fucked. You know the issues of some mmorpg players out there when it comes to socialize. In darkfall, if you join a clan, you have to socialize. Every clans will ask you to be on vent. The mass wont handle all that pressure when their e-peen is on the line. If you cannot socialise, it will be hard to even learn how to play since the game itself wont hold your hand. So you always have to rely on players you can trust to advance. Not anyone can make friends even in games.

How it is currently, the game is healthy and we keep getting new players. Since the last patch, some resubbed since the grind got reduce again. We dont need any advertising, not even Steam. DF is 15 a months and will never die. If you got a problem with it, it will never be adressed so you might as well move on to an other game.

If you want pvp and can handle Darkfall's FPS combat I suggest trying it and then...buying a good FPS game instead.

No FPS out there can give the adrenaline rush that Darkfall can.

No game can.

You cannot name one. Nobody can.

Its the best game in the market if you want to feel something.

In Darkfall, you are a hero by saving a person  . ... not an NPC.

you are a conquorer from taking from another person . ... not an NPC.

The potential rush cannot be put into words. I have had a lot of fun in a lot of games but none quite like this one.

The closest games would be like EVE, UO, etc. but in those games it feels more like watching your avatar win instead of winning yourself so the rush isn't as good.

I guarantee you sir, that Planetside in its prime was far more exciting than DF can ever  be. Hundreds of people in tanks, airplanes, firing chainguns and setting up Landmines and turrets, fighting over bases? Far more awesome than the dwindling population of Darkfall can produce.

Darkfall will never ever, EVER, come close to Planetside in that aspect.

Planetside eh?

LOL

Whatever dude.

Have fun playing your risk free games.

The most exciting FPS game can break me into a sweat if its hard enough and I love them but obviously there is something about risk vs reward that is beyond your understanding and comprehension because no game other than Darkfall can provide a bigger adrenaline omfg I am at the edge of my seat and hope that I do not die rush.

Closest thing would be EVE but . .. do you think that you can get the same rush from watching your spaceship pew pew pew for you as you give it commands? hahaha

NEWS FLASH! A bank was robbed the other day and a man opened fire on the customers being held hostage. One customer zig-zag sprinted until he found cover. When questioned later he explained that he was a hardcore Darkfall Online player and knew just what to do.

I dont think Ive ever gotten a "rush" from a video game. Sitting on my arse with no actual stimuli beyond moving pictures on a screen just isnt gonna produce a "rush" like a roller coaster, repelling, bungie jumping etc.

Must be some wierd brain chemistry that calls up a "rush" while playing a video game.

Yes it is... adrenaline.

I guess my advice is that if a video game triggers an adrenaline rush in certain people, those people need to get out more.

Let me clarify so no one tattles on me again.

Im not familiar with a rush from video games in the way that I am from say flying down a hill on skis at 40 mph.

My point exactly. You haven't gotten a rush because you haven't stuck with the game. You obviously don't know what its like or why it could offer a rush more than any other FPS out there. This game messes with your head . ... lol . .. and yes it is the only game out there that can give an adrenaline rush to every player who plays it as a main game.

Hopefully you will see someday when they make the UI easier. If you want to see now I can give you some pointers. Contact me in game on NA if that is the case.

Yo,

This game is the best MMO on the market.

No MMO adds the rush that this game does.  it is so intense and requires so much skill and knowledge to be real good.

U need to customize your keyboard with custom bindings and scripts.  Its so epic.  Best game ever right now.
