ok i'm posting here because for the life of me i can't figure out how to post on the official DF forums.

i'm quite new to the game but i really, really like it so far. love the full loot, huge world, fighting mechanincs, gathering, all the spells, crafting, even the graphics are pretty nice when you consider the scale of it all.

this brings me to my only pet peeve so far. i can customize my whole UI from size, to placement, to obscurity EXCEPT for the cast bar. what the hell?

Big yellow cast bar right in the middle of my screen. can't move it, can't obscure it, can't remove it. you can change everything else but that. why?

i love using my bow and watching the draw animation, the arrow fly in an arc, blood spurting when it hits, and then the arrow sticking out of my target, even the sound it's pretty cool.....and then there is the yellow cast bar. seriously wtf?

Hrmm I never noticed that . .. good point. Maybe the UI revamp will have it? Are you sure that you checked everything? I am at work or I would but I swar I remember moving it before.
