Darkfall is going for a Dynamic Lore System. the actions of the players during events will feed directly into the next event. If we kill the guardians then they will never arrive. if we let them through, who knows what will happen.

Guilds who stand out and players who do something amazing will be remembered in the Lore and in future quests.

How exactly will the dynamic lore system work?  An event that happens and the result of which is remembered for future quests and lore?  If I happened to play a pivotal role in the outcome of such a thing, would my name be mentioned in lore etc?

Yes, your character name could be incorporated into the official lore/quest lines etc. :)

In most MMOs they make up characters and heroes for quests and events.

It makes sense that in a game like DF they could just incorporate big players within the game. I am thinking people like King Magnus, Gluttony, Osium. Leaders of major Alliances. these guys may not be important anymore, but they were at some point. Rather than making up characters to fill in the past of Agon, why not use the real people who helped influence the world.

As for events, if your the guy to slaughter the king, then I think you should be remembered forever as the guy who killed the king and have your name mentioned forever as that guy, rather than some random made up char.

 Probably more advanced lore than LOTRO in a few years....

We had same thing in Asheron's Call Darktide when blood decided to swear allegiance to Bael'Zharon instead of killing him. Out of all the servers only Darktide's Bael is written down in history....the EVIL PK allegiance of Blood protected him from everyone else

 4 minutes of a silly looking slow moving transport vehicle followed by a large zerg of players running around and then a big zerg fight.

 this event's about to happen on NA.  wonder if people can control themselves enough not to kill it

Some people enjoy reliving real events, some people enjoy frolicking in old stories.
