Geez, not everyone has been on the boards all day, nor read all the threads.  How dare they do something beyond look at these boards?

Not really trying to go on the attack Cec, but seriously, that did rub me the wrong way a little.  If the game does well, great, fine, good for it.  My head won't explode.  I hope your game does do well.  I wasn't commenting on merits and such.  I was commenting on the weird rise in hits, which Ten kindly explained for me.  Thanks Ten.

They were referencing today's rise most likely, but this has been a topic on the boards for a few weeks (look through some of the past threads, there has been a post or two).

Yes, because it shows up on the main page of mmorpg.com, congrats. It has an interesting title as well, leaves you wondering what all the dots lead too.

It also shows up in the Recent forum posts page here. You can find out which forum the thread is in but the main focus there is the thread title. That's where I found this.

It is exactly that, a reference.

I for one couldn't care less, except for the entertainment value it brings. But even that gets old because of all the bandwagoning and flinging of insults that most topics typically degrade into.

As far as the "haters" digging up obscure things to complain about, the first post pointing out the sudden "popularity" of Darkfall was made by one of the more outspoken(as of late) fans of the game. It would seem now that they are the ones that want to get all bent out of shape about it.

I'm just saying it's also a win for MMORPG.COM and it's advertising dollars.  It's all about the number of hits your site generates.  So anything that pulls in more viewers to MMORPG.COM is money in the bank for them.

Wow, I just looked. I never gave that counter much attention, but no way DF is as popular as Aion in its 1st month of release. Aion had epic forum battles after it release. So I'll have to say if you look at it, yea somthings really off with that counter.

Sorry Darth, this is a FFA PvP forum.  It definitely isn't for everyone, as there aren't any "safezones" and sometimes you will find body "looted" when you went afk.  That being said... I would think it the perfect forums for players of DarkFall. 

Who cares? Is there something I'm missing here, because I've never looked at that as any indicator or news worthy number.

If they did boost the numbers, and I don't see why they would, why report on it? The only press they're getting from that number is through these dumb forum posts.
