The OP is giving his opinion, although he does stated as though it were a fact.  I personally agree with him, it's just that other upcoming mmos don't really apeal to me the way darkfall does, not even other sandboxes like earthrise, fallen earth, mortal, etc.  WAR is a pretty decent game but it's just the same old same old really, except with an improvement in PvP, and don't get me wrong I enjoy it but I just don't see myself playing it for years to come unlike DF.

Lol, Mortal Online is a joke. The graphics are worse imo. Mortal online is following the same old cartoony graphics as every other mmo. Darkfall is at least something different, and in my opinion, their is nothing wrong with DFO graphics, I actually prefer them. MO is nothing but an immitation of  DFO, and will always be in it's shadows.. Let's say both titles release, DFO will be in beta shortly, MO has 2 classes in game so far... it's not releasing any time soon. When it does come out, IF it does, why would anyone leave DFO to play MO? They wouldn't. 

As for Earthrise & Fallen Earth, cool Sci-Fi MMO's that are nothing like AoC, WAR, or DFO. Shouldn't even be mentioned as hope to save MMO's or in this thread. They aren't revolutionary in any way.

Although DFO isn't "The last hope" for MMO's, it is for me. If DFO fails, I'm done hoping and waiting for that game that I will actually enjoy playing. Sure, maybe years down the road, a game will be out and ressurect the MMORPG world, but if DFO isn't that game, then you can plan on waiting a long, long time.

I agree.. darkfall is a beakon of hope. I believe in it, i really do.. everything that I believe was promised has shown itself in videos..

if it sucks.. i will stop following MMO's all together for years...

WAR is an excellent game that delivers on everything it said it would. Maybe it's not in the same market, sandboxes, but the PvP casual friendly market it is in the game is doing very well. I'll go as far to say the OP never played WAR or AoC because of his obvious generic post, filled with 0 knowledge of anything. If you expect DF to overcome the hype above what WAR has already done, you're very delusional. I will wait for DF to come, but I am not having expectations.

You just dont get it.

WAR and AoC isnt even in the same Universe as Darkfall for the real hardcore players, the ones bred up in felucca UO.

WAR and AoC isnt an option, never was. They is just another linear crapgame among others. Worthless PvP full with carebear features. WAR delivered on everything it said it would......ROFLMAO. Good for you, not for me.

Wouldnt play them even if i got payed doing it.

You don't know if DFO will be in beta shortly or not, because they have claimed beta was coming before. Why would anyone leave DFO for MO? Well assuming they both get released, you have no clue whether DF will be a stinker or not. If DF sucks and MO is awesome, then people would leave DF for MO.

You are already sticking your faith into a game that has been in development for 7 years, advertised beta 4 years ago, and only recently proved it even existed.

For the same reason I, and other rip games that are the same old, same old, just with a tiny twist to make it "unique". Also, I dislike the graphics, and that's a personal opinion. I don't see anything that would make me leave DFO for MO, besides DFO going down the drain. Which is also the only way I believe MO would ever be more successful than DFO.

Being similar as in Fantasy based. I'm not a fan of Sci-Fi, which is why I don't play EVE online, which is a FFA PvP Sci-Fi MMO. Maybe I should elaborate for bashers such as yourself, Fallen Earth, is nothing revolutionary to MMORPG's. Fallen Earth and Earthrise are FPS, it's not even an RPG.. Which is what sets it in a different world from AoC, WAR, & DFO. While Earthrise may be a step in the right direction, It's not the same as DFO/MO.

 What's wrong about a game being in development for 7 years? It can't hurt, It can only help. Why try and rush a release, when it's not polished? As many have, I'll just use AoC as a reference as to what kind of an affect a premature launch can have on a game. As for them advertising beta 4 years ago, I can't say anything about that, except trolls will hang on to anything they can to bash DFO. Why do they have to prove to the public, the game exists? What advantage does that add? All it does is hype a game up and cause the dev's to rush and try to release an unfinished product.

WAR and AoC are games for you to play now and love or hate.  I love WAR and I gave up AoC before the end of the free month.

DF on the other hand is a game in which you playing the waiting and guessing game.  You play DF by typing praise here, typing praise in DF forums and daydreaming about DF.  Yes that is a totally different enjoyment altogether.

For me I have only so much time to play, I would rather play a game that is real and available.  DF for me is just a list of words, and I spend time here only when I am not able to stay online.  For those who insist they want to wait for DF, your choice.  Not mine.  I do not live for another 100 years, and by the time DF comes out, you have a hard time finding my remains.

That's fine, I'd rather save my money and do something I actually enjoy instead of wasting my life playing an unrewarding cookie cutter/carebear game.

My guild which is one of the oldschool pk/pvp guilds from UO is playing WAR atm (personally I am playing Forumfall instead), and the people playing it is quite enjoying it.

It seems to be a really solid game. you can lvl solely on pvp'ing.

DF is on paper superior of course, but lets see how it all plays out when/if beta comes.

Until then WAR is definitely worth waisting your time on imo.
