And WAR failed you, it didn't fail in general, a lot of people are enjoying it.

Very true indeed. If Darkfall doesn't deliver then I am done with these games for good.

I wouldn't say it was the last hope, but it will be a very long time before any other mmorpg I'm interested in gets released.

Really?  You have, of course, spoken to every player in our genre on this, right?  I mean, I'm assuming you are speaking from a position of authority.  This couldn't possibly be some idea you came up with that doesn't have any real evidence to legitimize your statements.

If Darkfall falls flat on it's face, I can only hope that the attention it's been given will pave the path for another dev. team.

I wouldn't hold your breath on this one. It looks awesome and when I say that I bet only 30% of its users will be able to run the game how its meant to be ran (for visual effect) Gameplay; I don't know yet, thats something we have to determine when beta is released.

Well considering DarkFall is a sandbox MMORPG and the other two mentioned are not I'd say the genre you must be refering to is the Sandbox genre. If that be the case then it' is easy to say AoC and War failed to deliver. If your into meaningful PvP then again they fail to deliver and I don't see many able to honestly disagree with that.
