unless they are very skilled? Seems to me that with full pvp looting you're gonna have to get a guild to trust for backup? I'm all for full looting though, it's realistic. And of course gives more of an edge. However, something else that is realistic, is a limit for how much you can carry, that you could be encumbered and do slower combat with tons of stuff on you. That should be implemented if not already. |

This life will most certainly take a smart player that is also well skilled but it will be more than doable. The world is going to be truly massive so there will be plenty of out of the way places a lone wolf would be able to make a way for themselves in the world of Darkfall. This game offers true freedom to play the way you want so don't rule any play-style out just yet.

Well, hate to mention Ultima Online(UO), but they did successfully allow lone wolfs... several things added to it: Its anyone's best guess how Darkfall is going to approach it, but that's how UO did it, and UO was a PvP full looting system as well (before they started catering to the non PvP players exclusively). |

Originally posted by sirb1ood DFO won't have any of those features: -you have to mouse over a character to see his/her name/guild etc. -all colors will be neutral unless, perhaps, the player is from a guild your guild is at war with and , possibly, if that player is of an enemy race. Maybe. -Hiding? If you want to hide, you better learn how to use trees and other cover. -teleporting will be slow and difficult and you will not be able to use it to get out of a fight. -You won't know someone's attacking you until they hit you and you won't know where it's coming from unless you see him casting/shooting/swinging. -DFO does have a large number of skills and spells. The devs have forewarned everyone: You will die often.

Originally posted by sirb1ood Well although similar in concept Darkfall is not UO and will have none of those things except for your last point about defensive spells/skills. The world is supposed to be huge and that will be the major difference between DF and UO. Not to mention the penalties for PKing racial allies will be a little more strict than it was in UO. UO didn't even have many of those things until they started to change it in favor for the PvE crowd and most will tell you that is when the downfall of UO started. When you change a game into something it was never meant to be you might as well shut the servers down instead and save yourself some grief. Look at how well it worked for SWG as another prime example.

I think lone wolves are possible! Saw those lone badasses in the trailer? Just have to play it smart to win. |

I think they said they made the amount you can carry a lot more than would be realistically possible. A couple reasons i think were: - so you didn't have to mouseover each individual piece of loot during a battle, determining at that moment what was valuable or not - so looting 1 person's corpse doesn't require you to find a nearby bank to stash it before resuming more combat/looting. |

Gamers who use RMT are like athletes who use steroids. |
I mostly solo so I will be going it alone but keep in mind there are factions based on race and most people that are considered allies won't attack you. |

I agree with the people above that it will be possible. However, it seems that although it may be possible, it would be extremly frustrating, with a lot of hiding, running, and sucking up to clans for trading in their cities. And of course your mortality rate will be high despite all the sneaking around, running, and cow-tying to the clans. |

i will be playing by my lonesome, at least for while. i really dont like "relying" on others to survive so i will go play in the wilderness by my self with my little cabin and farm. maybe do some bow hunting, or protect my land from the near by goblins that keep trying to raid my little camp... Dark fall will have so many possibilities! |

I don't really care for lone wolves. It's an MMO. The whole idea behind it is to interact with other people. If you want to play on your own I suggest a regular RPG. It'll be much more fun as a team in my opinion. |

I would love to see the quote as the ones I have seen stated that they were fantasy weight limits i.e. you can carry lots of loot.... |

Just your opinion, the game has been designed to support Lone Wolves, so they will exist you will just never see them. |
