The way Adventurine is advertising and developing Darkfall, I doubt it will reach 500K subscription unless they remove full looting within the game. I agree 50 isn't enough but it will eventually grow.

 

But ask yourself, why do you want to play this game w/o full looting?  What is it that appeals to you so much that you can't get in another game?

You completely don't understand the core mechanics behind the game, nor the reason for full looting so why bother with DF? 

Go play one of the many other games out there more suitable to your playstyle, there certainly isn't a shortage of them.

But go head, hit the DF forums, they'll chew you alive and spit you out.  (and they do that to folks they like, you, whoo boy)

1. Get it through your skull that not every dev team is interested in stealing subs of  WOW ,that`s mythic job hence THEIR CREATION OF war.

2. Are you an idiot or just a freaking retard? There is a nice big market for a game like DF that will keep it ticking over really nice. You don`t need millions of subs to run a good mmorpg.

3. Take this debate to the DF forum and you will get mugged off for the idiot that you are. Unlike your WOW/WAR forums we are not as thick or blind as your WOW/WAR followers who like being led through a mmorpg with shiny little reward at the end.

I cannot believe all the mmo and forum snobs we have on these forums now.  Since when did it get this bad.  I mean darkfall is nothing more than a white paper with a pretty trailer at this point.  Why do we have such rabid fanboi's for something this far from release. 

What is it about darkfall that turns seasoned MMO players into rabid WoW'ish fanboi's.  I have never seen a fan base as hard up to defend a game since WoW.  But at least those fans had the good sense to wait until the game was released and they played through it.

Please explain to me how you can get so fired up for a white paper and pretty video's?  Have you not learned anything?  In the end darkfall will be about money, they will do what it takes to get and keep subs just like every other game out there.  They plan to make a hard core game for hardcore MMO players.  But this has been the claim of sooo many MMO's out there.  I am flaberghasted at how oblivious and head in the sand some of you darkfall fanboi's are.  This game will fail you in some way when it is released they all do...  but I am done defending games based on what the dev (guys who want your money) tell you to whip you into a frenzy so they can sell you something.

show me a video of a guy playing the game.  Provide reputible review houses a chance to play the title let me hear the words of someone with objectivity and no links to the game or its rabid fan's.  I just don't understand the blind following this title has accrued.  Please explain to me what drives you fanboi's to such great furvor that you must bash on this OP.  (Who perhaps simply lacked education on pk looting.)

And to the OP, while your idea is one you believe in and since you obviously want all the features the game offers with none of the risk.  I do not fault you.  But perhaps you are better spent asking for a server type to allow you to get your game on without all the risk involved.  Many non hardcore MMO's make open PvP servers to satisfy the hardcore crowd it would make sense for non-hardcore players to ask for a server with rule sets more to their liking.

I see nothing wrong with going that direction with your petition.  But when you start asking for broad changes to core mechanics it's gonna rile some feathers.  I think go to forumfall and start a pet for a server ruleset that would allow for more casual gamers interested in the game features without the risk to have a place to call home.

I think darkfall fan's have no problem with that, right?  It keeps them off your servers and gives them a place to enjoy the title you sooo love.  Everyone wins.

50 carebears are not gonna make a difference to the 100's of thousands of DF fans who want exactly  what the  game says it will be .

WaR/WoW will not effect DF in any way  they are for a totaly different type gamer.  Most of the people who like those type games and what they stand for , like your self ,wouldn't want to play a game like DF , and if they did, wouldnt last a week.

  There are plenty of games out there with no player looting  go find yours , this isnt it .

There are many many games out there without free for all pvp or full looting, but there are very few games which do have these features. Those of us who like the idea or have played those games in the past are very excited about Darkfall, as it seems that it will deliver what we want. This is not a game for everyone, and te developers understood that when they started out. They wanted to make a game for those of us who want these features. There is no reason that this game has to be like every game out there. Please just leave it alone. If you don't like the game as it is, then go play one of the numerous games out there that aren't ffa pvp with full loot.

Please- don't ruin Darkfall for us! It's our last hope. 

I am not a fan of player looting. However, I see no reason the makers of Darkfall need to change their plan just for you. Not every game has to appeal to everyone.

There's more to mmorpgs besides the pvp aspects. Mmorpers looks at role-playing games to only play the pvp aspect of it without realizing that there's more to mmorpg than pvp itself like Questing, adventuring, actual roleplaying, and many different perspective. Those appealing games aren't very appealing no more, I prefer to play the upcoming revolutionary game - Darkfall. Eventhrough if Darkfall becomes the revolutionary game that the masses have been talking about, and its core objective is pvp with full looting, it doesn't mean that as pver I can't express my opinions or ideas for the better future of Darkfall, and I do believe that there should be a alternative server with partial looting at least.

I completely comprehend the core concept of Darkfall, but it doesn't mean a fan can't ask for a non-looting server for his/her friends or guild to play on without constantly fearo of losing their prize collections they oh-so took long and hard to obtain.  Adventurine isn't different than any other company that produce and develope mmorpgs, they'll want as much customers as possibe. The more customer will equal more money to put meal on their family's table.

Even if the best gear is player-made it doesn't mean that the maps will be easy to obtain. Farming the mats will surely take a decent amount of time for the require equipment.

For those that are cursing at me and calling me a Carebear, I'm proud to be among them! I got 2500+ rating in WoW's arena which takes a massive amount of skills, do you have that? I'm hardcore as any other pvp, but I see more to mmorpg than stealing  other player's equipment for selfish reasons.  

My gameplay is different than alot of noobs in this thread that's all!
