I think we all got trolled by this post btw. I didn't read the last 18 pages because it is a waste of time, but I am on a quest to hype darkfall, so, postcount = postcount +1;

You have to think of your gear in terms of STACKs of swords and STACKS of helmets, rather than single swords and single helmets.

Items will decay, Items will break, Items will get stolen. 

Progress and success will be measured by your ability to establish and maintain a good, reliable supply of higher quality equipment, not spending a month grinding reputation or honor to get a +20 Uberdicer of Slaphappiness and then keeping it forever.

And noone cares if DF has (or even wants it to) have 10 million subscribers. That's not what they need, and I'll bet my money that that is not what Adventurine built their game for. The people that DO play it will do so because they love it. I'd rather be playing a game with 100 other people who love the game and challenge me to think and strategize to beat them; than be playing with 10,000 other people who just want their hand held and cry every time they can't 1-hit something.

This is why video games are different from TV. They do (or should) force you to use your brain, to think and plan and PLAY THE GAME! If you want to "sit back, relax and zone out" then go watch sitcoms.

DF was built from the ground up to be this type of game. If you don't like it, go somewhere else.

Blizzard making a sci-fi MMO like Starcraft will be nothing but WOW with a sci-fi theme to it nothing more and nothing less same grind treadmill that exists in WOW. People play EVE to escape that treadmill or just dont like the waterdowned cookie cutter MMOs out there. Starcraft will be the same as WOW is easy,simplistic, and boring with no risk involved just a easy button for carebears to push and stay safe....saying the a Star craft MMO would kill EVE completely is just moronic for the simple reason the Blizzard caters to the PVE/Casual/Carebear generation and its easy for a monkey to play. EVE doesnt do that  it requires you to think and actually plan your gameplay and your ship setup and its not item centric like Blizzard does in WOW or even a theoritic SC model, SC will be just a sci-fi game with repetitive gameplay and shinies just like WOW ,im not interested ....and neither are EVE players...

I do see the worry here but i think i will save judgement untill it's out.

My worry is having played a few sandbox and a few loot pvp games i worry that players will leave after a month of playing. i played ryzom nd while it had a few neat idea's it soon became apparent that theres just not much to do for me. now add this with full loot pvp and no need for items and i just wander if players will leave once they  get what they wished for!

I'm no carebear just the opposite...make it as hard as you like and 99% will give up before i do, But i dont want to be running back and forth equipping myself either..nor do i want to be running around naked. so i just hope they give this game something interesting to do too, like lore or something. please get away from this sandbox idea.
