Actually compared to what it was a few weeks ago this is quite civil. The best thing you can do is if you see someone breaking the RoC report them and don't reply by flaming them as that will just get you warned or banned as well. Make sure you give a well thought out reason for the report as well as this will get the mods attention faster then just, "OMG, THIS GUY IS A TROLL, BAN PLZ!!!!". The Mods are actually doing a much better job in this section recently than they have in the past. Remember that the report function is your friend so don't be afraid to use it. It's your best weapon in the ongoing war against the nasty flamers and trolls.

If they explain why they think a game sucks, it cannot be locked according to the Rules of Conduct. Just gotta live with it.

If they start flaming people or the game without giving an explanation why they think the game sucks then you can /report it

Game Attacks
Unsubstantiated comments about specific or general games will be penalized in nearly the same way attacks against people will. The exception is that you can say mean things about games provided you back it up with reasons.
Example: "Game X sucks." is not a legitimate comment. "Game X sucks, because..." is acceptable.

When I was a moderator here and if I saw someone freaking out because another person was bashing a game they liked, I always ignored the report. However, if the person who /reported the post had a valid reason (i.e., the offensive post just slammed the  game without reason why such as "this game is a piece of shit" then it can get locked.). But the /report will always get ignored unless the offensive poster does not give reason why they think the game sucks.

Also, they can /report if they spam somehting over and over and over. And unfortunately, 14 different users starting a thread of why they think a game is vaporware, etc is not spam. Spam means when the same user post the same rehtoric over and over and over.

Take a look at Age of Conan section as an example. TONS of peope posting that they hate the game. The reaosn why 95% of em aren't locked is because they give reason why they dont like it.

If people don't start following these rules, I'm going to start reporting them. I'm tired of the lies, slander, and continual trolling that is not allowing people interested in Darkfall to hold civil discussions.

So stop the trolling, bashing, flaming, and stay out unless you can follow the rules.

aye, thats exacty what I am talking about. Many people that you are upset at ARE following those rules. Take a look at my previous post. It explains exactly why you dont see as many posts as  you may want to be closed and locked.

Remember, this isnt the official forums where negative posts will get locked. People at mmorpg.com has always had the freedom to slam a game as long as they give their reason why. The reason may not even have to factual or true but they have to provide a reason.

For example if some one posts:

Darkfall is shit. Always has been always will be

Then that is reportable and can be locked.

If someone says:

Darkfall is shit. The game has been in development since 2001 and its always changing their dates and I cannot trust the developers more than I can trust my ex girlfriend.

That above post cannot be /reported as the user adhered to the RoC (that link you just posted). Hope that helps.

I don't care what people say as long as they follow the rules and a lot of people are not following the rules. I have no quest other than to have civil discussions without people coming in with trolling, lies, flaming, and taking threads off topic.

But in all seriousness, OP, if you really get bothered by the criticisms that people say about this game, the official forums may be a better place for you.

It isnt a bad thing that I am saying. You just may feel more comfortable there.
