Origin

Formed in 2003 specifically for Darkfall.

We are a group of experienced gamers from diverse backgrounds united with a passion for PvP, game politics, lore oriented roleplay, and character development.

Purpose

Eradicate any threat to our divine forest.

Mirendil faces an unprecedented challenge; multitudes of wild Mahirim and legions of sadistic Alfar seek to plunder and desecrate our sacred home. With so few Mirdain-centric clans to be found, it falls to us, the Oromëa, to shoulder the burden of preventing Mirendil from being overrun by these merciless abominations. Our duty is truly perilous and is unparalleled anywhere in Agon. The hereditary nature of our enemies is premeditated hate and aggression, yet we are faced with more threats, even from the midst of our allies. It is not without thought for the battles ahead that we have shouldered this overwhelming burden. While lesser Mirdain cower among the shadows, the Oromëa stand proud against our adversaries, showing them nothing but cold steel.

"We are the necessary evolution of Mirdain society - harnessing our physical and intellectual power, and putting it to more practical use. We're not Mirdain radicals, we're the 'new mainstream': old-world iron smelted and hammered into new-world watered steel." - Dorundain

Government

The Oromëa is governed by the Lathruin council, which is headed by the Aredhel.

The Lathruin is comprised of six members who come to serve on the council in 3 ways. The Aredhel, is our most benevolent founder and as such enjoys the position of heading the Lathruin. He, in turn, directly appoints the leaders of the Dirnaith and Carathrim, which serve at his pleasure, and represent the interests of their Orders on the Lathruin. Those groups of the Tawarwaith collectively elect a representative to speak for their interests on the Lathruin.

The final two positions are elected representatives of the clan membership, who speak on behalf of their brothers on the council and serve to bring their issues to the Lathruin. The Ooma Tel’Quessir, or Voice of the People, are elected to serve three month terms on the Lathruin and many serve an unlimited number of consecutive terms, so long as they maintain the confidence of the electorate.

The Lathruin positions are currently held as follows:

Dorundain is Aredhel, Elflord and Founder of The Oromëa. He heads the Lathruin in all matters and holds executive power. He is also Master of Coin and, as head of the Celebreth, Chief Diplomat.

Vadriel is Dauglir, General of The Dirnaith. As commander of Oromë‘s Host it falls to Vadriel to safe-guard Mirendil, the Oromëa holdings and fight the enemies of both wherever they may strike.

Faroth is Cairhir, Supervisor of the Carathrim. Faroth is tasked with the ever-difficult job of keeping the troops well armed and armored as well as building and maintaining the cities of the Oromëa.

Pavlos and Sel'Karim are our currently elected and serving Tel’Quessiri. It falls to them to represent the interests of the membership at large and be their voice on the Lathruin.

The position of Erebhir, Representative of the Tawaraith is currently vacant.

Recruitment Standards

Accepting brave and mature Mirdain who share a passion for our sacred commission.

Joining the Oromëa is to choose a difficult path, but this is no cause for fear. On the contrary, this challenge imbues the Oromëa with a unique sense of purpose that is rarely found in your more typical multi-race clans. I urge you to arm yourself with this purpose and to join in the epic struggle of defending Mirendil!

The Website and Forums both contain information about the recruitment process. If you wish to get in touch with us, naturally the Oromëa forums and IRC channel are the places to do so.
