Now they prolly have the game but they're just abunch of slackers like us all. And how many people actually are working on this... not alot...and do they have enough money....prolly not. How do you call your lil rant evidence anyways all it is is your opinion. I don't know how sooo many people can hate on a game thats still in development. Don't give me the hole crap about how long it has been in development because technology is always advancing and these guys have to code billions of lines of code, adapt to new technology, keep up with the world, earn enough money to make the game, all without a huge team like if a game was made by failcom or $oE they wouldnt have this problem... because they would have enough people to actually do the damn thing.

thats still no excuse....chronicles of spellborn has been in production for 3-4 years and they have so mush more to show than darkfall...and there team is just as small...if not even smaller

Who says Darkfall creaters even know what they're doing.

well if in seven years they still dont know what they are doing then they are pretty....eh..stupid i guess

i mean you can go to colleage and learn game programming/or designing in only 3 years....and with that you can make games....they have had double that and more to learn how to program and make a game...

I wouldn't call them stupid because I don't know them. I'm just debating about if the game actually exists or not and giving an opinion on the explanation. We can't prove the game doesn't exist and we can't prove that is does but these guys also have to learn the new technology when it comes out and their plan for their game will take alot of professional coders and honestly I dont think they're very professional.

LOL ya i want the game to come out and believe it exists but im not a fanboi and until someone gets some solid proof that they are just pulling our leg (which they have no reason to) then I will believe that the game is a lie but the fact that all people have is that the game is taking them over 7years and that they haven't had a live beta (that we know of) isn't enough because there is no 100% fact about the game but I believe it exists because there isn't a reason for them to lie.

Okay, why has it taken so long to make just this you ask?  Simple.  Because they haven't yet scammed enough money from investors to suit their desires before they run off and hide, never to be found again.

Okay you fanboys ask, what would be their reason for this?  Easy.  To try and earn investors cash.  Nothing more.  Investors put up millions and millions of dollars for such games, especially a game that promises all the things this game has promised.

You have a valid point. Just look at how FC screws over their own investors with hype.

That said, investors have the oppertunity to get information on an whole other level than us simple consumers can. If I had 10 million dollars to invest, I would be sure I got to see the game, code etc. on a regular basis. And if the company needed my cash, they would comply. If the investors didn't do what they could to secure their investment, well that is their own fault.

And really, I have no sympathy for stupid people.

So how can we fanbois be so sure DF exist ? Well, we can't but we haven't actually put any cash into it to "demand answers" as investors could either

Personally, I belive there is such a company named Aventurine and they are developing a game called Darkfall Online. I base this on the fact that 10-12 norwegians uprooted and moved to Greece in late 2002. That is like 4 hobbits leaving the Shire to fight Sauron. It doesn't happen that often. Also there are tons of information on the net for the search savvy.

That said, I don't know what features will be in the game. I will not put any cash up front in an preorder, I will use the option of a free trial.

My stand is "Trust but verify".

In the end...

Common sense  >  Hype.

"No Darkfall" or "Crappy game" > "Best mmo ever" ........in the rational dept.

In the emotional/fantasy/hope depts, sure Darkfall wins out and I hope it succeeds.  But I just can't go on hype alone for year after year after year without enough concrete evidence to support such "hope"

Darkfall has already FAILED at so many levels.  Believing in it and anything Tasos ever says just gets harder and harder every day.

I don't know how you fans do it, day after day, lie after lie, disappointment after disappointment.

No offense, but didn't you just contradict yourself. I don't really much care for whatever this game is but what is this:

"They have created a small virtual area with water, some landscape, and some ships and crap.  Then they have made a few pre-programmed "bots" to run around following their in game commands.  From there, they have cameras that they can maneuver into any angle that suits their purpose for videos and screenshots etc."

For them to be in-game, wouldn't they need to be using some type of game engine? Therefore they actually have a game?

Sounds like you need a break from DF. I'm fine BTW because I relate to the finished product/free trial. Everything else is just information.

Indeed Maya would be easier :)

Darkfall 2008 --> If you want a sandbox game that challenges you, check it out

Yea the vast majority of fans have never said it will be the "best mmo ever".  We all know it will be a niche game, which is all we want/need to have fun.  Millions of subs does not = fun for anyone.

And actually common sense says that "a small developer company who is new to MMO development and marketing" > "omg hoax /tinfoilhat /hidefirstborn lol they are liars".   people just have trouble thinking outside of that box they have been living in, or are spoiled by hype machines like funcom.  They dont owe us anything, there would be nothing wrong from a business aspect if they gave us NOTHING until the game was gold if they felt they has a superior product and then marketed it hard for a few months before release.  Sure it would be different.

How has it failed?  Oh yea it hasnt.  Until it releases and is a complete disaster (which is definitely a possibility), or if it runs out of funding and the publisher backs out and never releases, it hasnt failed.  They may suck at marketing, but that isnt failing when the true test of their product has not begun yet.

There is always that debate about how long it has been in development.  Do we start in 2003?  if so do we add on time because some stuff had to be done already that carried over?  Does it matter?  No it doesn't really matter.  Because the people who bash this game for taking long to develop...are also in other threads bashing developers for releasing unfinished products and saying they should have delayed it for another year to finish it.  There is a word for people like this...cant seem to remember it....hypo something....hypopotemus?  hypo.....hypo...hypoallergenic?  hypo something...ill think of it...

Its called being a fan, and having an open mind.  Both of which seem to be lost on many on this forum.

How do sports fans keep going when their team hasnt made the playoffs for 10 years?  Because they dont value the world series ring, as nice as it would be, they value the experience and the love for the game.

Darkfall, on paper, is a great game to anyone who has the personality for the niche pvp it presents.  And with all the garbage on the market today, it is the only thing that is promising in the near future.

We do it because we like MMOs.  We love the game and we want to play one that we can have fun in.  Anyone who cant see that needs to take some serious time to reflect about why they are here on this forum.

I have a guild that has been around since AC2 (yes it was founded on this lovely game), and the core members are all basically not playing MMOs since WoW got old for us.  Darkfall is the one title that is universally drooled over for its feature list.  WAR will probably have a guild with our name on it for the time being, but personally it isnt for me.  So another reason we wait with hope is that it is a chance to reunite and have that community again.  Yea that is a little touchy feely, but you asked how we do it.
