Look at the level of detail in this pic. It's almost photo-realistic.

if anything, the DF art team has really achieved a great color saturation in their graphics...they feel so...alive, I want to jump inside the screen and join the fun...

Still far too much uncertainty in his wording.  I read human behaviour for a living. He uses the word might even for the european release, that shows he is just doing the smoke and mirrors hoopla.

And we have not yet seen how far they have gone with optimization of the GFX engine, last info we had (from about a  year ago) was that the engine was set at 'default' settings. So there might be more yet to see...

But I love these graphics even as they stand now, my only concern would be the view/draw distance (I want it significantly higher)...

Aye Darkfall graphics is superb. Personally i prefer Darkfall graphics over Age of Conan graphics. Darkfall graphic style with its dark and gothic style is the best i seen so far in any MMORPG. Draw distances is as you mentioned also my only concern, i want long view distances.

Well, you never know when you might uncover a game-breaking bug or exploit (*cough* AoC, lol) that throws your schedule out by 2 weeks.

It'll be done when it's done, and i have no problem with that.

Wow, this is great, the trees look really realistic, the closest tree to the camera is almost photorealistic. Much much nicer than both WOW and Warhammer.

I find Darkfall environment the best of any game so far, it looks really like a fantasy.
I mean there is something surreal about it, a bit like a nice painting (yes I particularly like the orange palette, it feels dirty, decadent, gritty and somehow gothic)

I am not so sure on the character models though, but the environment is very interesting, best graphic for a fantasy MMO so far IMO.

Are you kidding me buddy? Have you NOT seen ANY EMPIRE pictures from Warhammer? It's supposed to be like 16th-century Europe, but darker and more gritty. Thus you see grays, you see dark oranges, you see some browns (except for some parts of Altdorf). I'd rather have that then some crappy textured tree and a windmill.

I am beta testing WAR almost a year, and although I don't wanna enter in detail about other aspects of the game, WAR art style feels cartoonish and plain boring (everyone can see the screenshoots so no NDA broken here)

I cannot say more, but in fact the way the world of WAR looks,  is what stops me being more enthusiastic about Mythic game, it just doesn't feel like Warhammer.
Darkfall environment is what WAR should have looked like.

Of course the character models are another matter, I don't like them too much, but aren't so awful either.
But the environment of Darkfall are awesome IMO.

Perhaps they would suit War's gameplay better, but warhammer has a style that has been around for a couple decades now, so the MMO's graphics are pretty well done that considered I think :)

This is NOT professional graphics work.

Asheron's Call 2 which was released in 2002 had completely superior graphics to what Darkfall has right now. That's how bad it is.

Just because AoC did? No I think the extra time (years) they've taken with Darkfall will make it a pretty solid release.

Whether it will be too hardcore to attract & retain carebears though is another thing. EVE has done pretty well.
