Did you know that MMORPG graphics are balanced between performance and eye candy in a totally different way, than the usual single player game would be?

I've had to do this comparison already once, I guess you missed it. So, here we go:

Age of Conan

Darkfall

From all the videos I've seen, darkfall is absolutely gorgeous when animated.

Some of the screenshots are very nice I think, but in game, with the grass blowing in the wind, clouds rolling past in the sky and the lighting already mentioned, the game is very nice. And it's actually well animated.

These models are not created by someone just learning to model. That's ridiculous. Have you ever tried modeling at all? I can tell you for a fact that these are well done models, with a careful and conscious graphics/performance balance.

Darkfall is one of the worste looking MMORPG's ever made.

The textures are horrid and low resolution. The modelling work is sub par at best. The lighting is bad. The color pallette is bad. The animations are terrible.

These models are not created by someone just learning to model. That's ridiculous.

I gurantee you that if you would give the 3DSMAX meshes of those models to a Blizzard artist he would laugh his ass off.

You couldn't find an uglier AoC screenshot, could you ?

AoC as it flaws but graphics wise it is top-notch, there is no doubt about that.

The engine doesn't even use Normal mapping for christs sake which is a completely standard thing in this day and age and allows you to make high detail models with ver low poly counts..

I just took a random screenshot of AoC from the first page after I made a search with the keyword "Age of Conan screenshot"

Resize your pictures next time. Those screenshots look pretty decent indeed, but Darkfall graphics are definitely not bad either when compared.

Anyway, graphics don't matter that much at all. Instead, if you have too good and heavy graphics, it will most likely turn some people down.
