I really am interested in what Darkfall offers and in a non-linear sandbox game. I love RPGs and I also love being able to play and compete online as well. I always hated the Final Fantasy type of RPGs because they were way too narrow and linear. I loved Ultima Online and the freedom it presented. I also liked Asheron's Call and its PvP server, darkworld I think it was called.

But my question is there seems to be a lot of people here slamming Darkfall and calling it phony and vaporware and stuff. May I ask why so much heat is being placed on this game?

Just go through any of the many threads, the answer will come to you.

Because the game has been in development for many years with only a handful of screenshots and a few videos to show for it, and those videos don't show what they're promising. So, it's easy (whether you think it's justified or not) to say this game is never coming out. I think they're making something, but at this point it's almost enough to just say "haha I was right, it DID come out" or "lol dumb fanbois, this game's just a memory now." So that's why there's these forum wars, and I think they're more entertaining than the game!

Darkfall promises alot, delivered little, and we'll just have to wait and see how long it takes for it to A) release or B) disappear.

Internet is the place when you can be whoever you want. This is the only place some can be a imaginary badass and 'give back' to raise your bad self-esteem.

But this is not the only place were Trolls/deceptionist dwells. Tho Darkfall is a easy target due to the lack of a real PR department. Which in turn gives us sometimes wierd journals.

It's not the pointless post that's are harrowing. But their behaviur isn't normal. No normal person act like these, they sure have some disfunction when it comes to social standards.

So this is a place for cowards to express their dissatisfaction thats reflect their real life.

And I admit that I like the style better of American mmo games compared to the Chinese/Korean ones like Lineage II. I dont know why, their style just doesn't appeal to me at all.

The videos and screenshots for Darkfall do look good I think but I would base my decision much more on how smooth and bug free the actual game play turns out

Not that this is rock solid proof about all the promised features but it's definetly more than "a few screenshots".

Because the game has been in deveopment for 8 years, and they still won't show it to anyone. And the videos they release don't show most of the features that are supposed to be in the game.

 Also , they have been saying beta is about to start since 2003, but it hasn't started yet

well thats what you say do you have proof they havent showed it to anyone? NDas kinda stop people from tlaking if it has to do with bizness stuff hence why they went with pro tsters easyest way to keep an NDa from being broken..

You are not alone in having a keen interest in Darkfall. If DF is vaporware or not, that something you have to decide for yourself. Dont listen to all fanbois and haters. Just look at it as it is.

And dont take it to seriously, or else you might end up on this forum as a very pointless poster : )

Fact:  Darkfall offers nothing.

It's a game that has been in development for eight years and has nothing to show for it, which is ignored by the mainstream gaming industry.  Most of the developer's once hardcore fans have turned "haters" over the years, that's why you have such passionate "vaporware trolls" telling the truth about this game as loudly and as often as they can. 

It's a game that doesn't exist.  Maybe it will come out some day or even go into beta, until then it offers nothing, so don't worry about it.  Find a game that exists, a game you can play, then you can tell what the game offers.  Games that you can't play offer nothing.  Games that nobody can play offer nothing to anyone.  Darkfall offers nothing to everyone, it's special that way!
