They can press discs just as well as any other publisher. As far as I know, AudioVisual isn't as closely involved in anything else than pressing and distributing the discs.

That's very funny, especially considering the game has a publisher and that people have actually played versions of the game. Oh but, you don't believe that. Asp going is just one big conspiracy, along with Women's Gamers and TenTon Hammer.

Please provide a link to the Publisher's page for Darkfall.

I don't read Greek, and I don't see Darkfall anywhere on the page.  I DO see some DVDs though... there's Scooby Doo...

How about a real Publisher's link?  I can get one for VG on SOEs page.  I can get 1 for Warhammer or HGL on EA's page.  Here's an example:

http://eastore.ea.com/store/ea/ContentTheme/pbPage.warhammerPreOrder/ThemeID.718200

or

http://vanguard.station.sony.com/

Something like that... only for Darkfall.

Congratulations, you can point out the publishers of games that are owned by multibillion dollar publishing companies that shove their noses into every game, and usually screw them up. We all know what SOE helped do to the Vanguard launch, and only the skeleton crew of Sigil employees that was left saved the game.

If you hadn't noticed, Darkfall is NOT like other MMOs, that's half the problem. Independent, self funding company, in Greece, (with HORRIBLE PR), that is probably going to handle "publishing" on their own, and let Audio Visual "distribute". AV's name wouldn't be absolutely everywhere, especially since it hasn't been formally announced yet, its just something Darkfall fans found, and AV and Tasos confirmed. There is a statement to stockholders floating around thats been in a few threads already, but I don't know where.

you are 100% correct, because the people who make other MMOs are going to actually release them.

Unbelievable!

You know, every single post you make the same exact INCORRECT statement. You've been repeating this mantra continuously no matter what proof has been provided that you're simply incorrect.

Women's Gamer and TTH DID NOT play Darkfall NOR did they even witness actual gameplay, PERIOD!

All you need to do is actually READ the articles and you would know that. In fact, the Women's Gamer article SPECIFICALLY stated that they were lead into a room where an interview was conducted. They also stated that they were told the game WOULD NOT be available until the next day. Unfortunately, they were leaving the next day.

You can read and comprehend can't you?

If so... Why on earth do you continue repeating the SAME OLD incorrect statement?

Wait.

WHO is getting the 25 million? The distributor or the game company?

Why would Tasos bring a broken/unfinished/very buggy or non-existent game client with him?

None of you get it, do you? They did make Darkfall, and the reality of it is they made it TOO good. It was so real that it evolved into its own reality, and we're IN it! We are in it and we are all characters unaware of our own artificial consciousness. Our Darkfall is probably just a random bit of fluff in a quest that most people quickly click through without reading just to find out how many wolves they have to kill. Heck, maybe our whole debate over DF being vaporware is just a little inside joke our devs put in for the real old school beta testers to reminisce about. Think Thriteenth Floor meets World of World of Warcraft.

P.S.: Devs, Which one of you took the time to code it so I could see my poo when I flush?

the trolls really do in my eyes. because what he says is true lol

It's the way he said it, not what he said.  But I suppose he will figure that out when he grows up.

Actually, even what he said is wrong.  I will not be pretending.  If the game is good, I will be playing it, and I will not be pretending I was a fanboi all along.   I wont be a fanboi, ever, because it is retarded.

And I hope our friend keeps HIS name in game, if we ever get to play, I would be more than happy to cross swords.

Ok I am going to throw out some points here in regards to the evolution of gaming, MMO life cycles and what we refer to as gamers as "NextGEN".

Darkfall has been in development for almost 8 years. (at least that what they tell you)

This game went into development around the time of Dark Age of Camelot. The evolution of gaming has advanced in the last 8 years beyond comprehension. It has also skyrocketed in funds needed to keep up in todays market.

Graphics hold 1 of the keys to today's success of an MMO. Mechanics and fluid motion also hold another key. Then you have programming and net code that must be top notch. If a game doesn't possess all three of these keys, it is doomed to failure in the generation of gaming we are at in present time.

This is evident with the recent release of one Age of Conan by Funcom. It only held 1 of the 3 keys, it had the "NextGEN" graphics, It  failed at mechanics, and programming. This and the company itself is a piece of shit, but that is beside the point. AoC is sinking like the Titanic after being hit by the Iceburg. That being said Funcom had money, it had plenty of money and it had a decent publisher/distributor. FAILED.

So let's play dumb 3rd grader for a sec and even assume Darkfall is a game.

Let's see how many keys it holds, Graphics... Not up to par with the 4 major competitors it will have to compete with this year. Warcraft WotLK, Warhammer, AION, or Age of Conan. Not in their league sorry. So that would be 1 key lost.

Key 2, Mechanics, well we aren't sure about mechanics because I have yet to see a group of users brought in to test it, "just in house" testing with "bots". We get told stories about how it is suppose to work, but no evidence that it does. Based off this alone I will say no key for this category.

Key 3, Programming and net code. Hmmm, well they can make the models move, that a check, they can make models appear to fight each other, another check. Looking good so far, how about questing and items working as intended? Who knows? Net Code, Maybe it works, they can test it in house so it at least can LAN right? Can it support 3000+ users on a server? Who knows. I will give it half a key based on the models can move.

So Darkfall has half a key out of three keys needed to succeed against today's brutal MMO market.

That is even assuming you EVER see Darkfall on a store shelf to buy, hell even online to download.

To top this all off the longer they wait to release this game, the better "NextGEN" becomes, and guess what they just do not have the money or resources to compete.

Sorry but Darkfall is doomed to failure before it even gets started.

You are totally wrong , There is next gen and also lame generic MMOs where no skill or effort is required instant gratification Hurah.

DF has everything a next gen game needs , Graphics play no part in the next gen as they detract from real gameplay, minimal look and feel is acceptable. Remove all the features that dumb down gameplay , integrate all features that are to be in the game and code well.

And you have next Gen ... most people who have never played Games with actual gameplay will not realise this and sadly they may be in the majority.
