2009 is only 5 short months away.

I am more then willing to bet that they will basically come up with the excuse that they need to make last minute fixes and want this game to be "perfect" and we've waiting this long, we can wait a few more months, blah blah blah and they will put this games launch off until "summer" or "Q2" of 2009.  (Ofcourse, we all know what will happen then as well - It'll change to Fall or "by end of 2009")

But let's just suppose for just one moment that I am correct.  I mean after all, we have 7 years of experience to base my prediction on. Based on the history, I have great odds of being correct with this prediction.

actully this is aventurine last chance there may be few straglers but meh

o release dates can still be changed if playtesting has issues. but expect playtesting to at least start ...

Another poll.  Be honest now, especially if you are following this game and anxiously awaiting its release.

Let's assume that next month we have a totally "kick ass" video released that shows in game gameplay and crafting and building and destruction of buildings and cities and it makes you really, really believe in this game and very excited for it...

Then in October, they announce an open beta. But they also announce that despite their desires to not charge to play the game before it's released, they need funding to get this game distributed to lots of countries to open the game up to a much higher player base when it does launch. So they offer the opportunity to play test the game starting in November and to play it for 6 weeks for $25 (US).

I think the best that can be hoped for is that some sort of beta will start this year.  Then, of course, release will be delayed because they will have actual players breaking the game.  Hell, release in summer 09 actually sounds reasonable, IMO. 

Meh the poll would of been better with Dark and Light considering they made about 500 grand off their pre order to play pioneer scam...... and considering I was an idiotic pioneer. Good thing for chargebacks,

Well personally, I would rather them just come up front and say that they are just going to BS through another year, because its getting very retarded how every year they do the same thing.

Ultimately for us mmo'ers sitting on the fence, the release of video next month ( about 6 days away, or more if its at the end of Aug) will mostly make or break this game for us. But to those that see this game as their only hope, as they are tired of the current quest-base,  raid-or-die,  pvp-or-die gene, i believe most of them will continue to try to defend this game.

But if what Tasos have promises still dosen't come to pass.... i seriously urge all mmo'ers to be very careful and don't defend a game in blind....

You may have a very good excuse for the reason that AVE is currently in the state that they are running  the game now and their PR, but your reason dosen't mean it's their's and doesn't mean its the truth....

Just hope that i can help us gamers to really learn and be careful of where we put our money, ever since DNL till now,  AOC...

Defend with valid reason and to a respected company, and not some new and unknown just startup company.... Even Failcom fail..... be wary.....be very careful dude.....

Well, I suppose the current crop of DF defenders will vanish from the site.

Then magically, we'll a whole new set users with low post counts appear suddenly defending/trashing the game and promising us that it will release 'sometime' in 2009. (or is the biggest piece of vaporware evah!)

But seriously, there's no point to root against DF coming out or hoping for some sick reason that it doesn't live up to expectations just to try and prove your viewpoint is 'right.'

While I've expressed huge doubts about DF and Aventurine, I really do want to see this game made and released according to the 'vision' (which is a dirty word these days, I know)

I'd love to give the game a try, anything is better than the current crop of quest based grinders that I've been stuck in the past 4 years. (hey, I play AOC right now)

I got a funny question.  Say it doesn't make 2008 but actually does come out in 2009.  With all the features promised nothing cut out, no real bad technical problems.  Do we still owe the supports an apology? Or is that agreement void by it not making 2008 release?

i think you owe everyone an opolgize if it starts playtestingthis year and it has what tasos ays it has.

taso never said it was bug free. or it will be bug free. you can read that on the warcry dev quotes.
