After 8 years of hardcore development, the game is finally releasing, and only in a couple of months. Darkfall is coming !!

There wont be a public beta because the game is almost perfect

Keys features of the game

Numbers and underscore are allowed in your name
World is 2x bigger than dark and light
Full loot and ffa PvP
500 vs 500 battles
You can siege a city 
Theres no levels or grind
Raids better than World of Warcraft
Naval combat better than Pirate of the Burning Sea
Better graphics than Age of Conan
Better pvp than Warhammer

Unlimited freedom, you can do almost everything you want in the game.

Thasos said they will release a video of the game maybe this year.

No open beta as there is nothing to show ... and I really hope Iam wrong about it !!!
Back in the late 2001 when I first spotted DF i though o man that will be one awsome game.
Then in 2005 we were all eager waiting for closed beta to start -> nothing then in 2006 yea close beta will start and release will follow within the same year -> nothing.

So hopfully iam wrong as hell thinking df is one big vaporware ( o god please let me be wrong .. and i mean it )

Gotta love how you interpreted their dev journal.  They even stated a public beta and that there is NOT a launch date, but it will be sometime in 2008.  They have done this many times before.  Also, those outright lies you spouted about what the game will be like have NEVER been backed up by the devs or in any announcements.

Sure gotta love the Darkfall Forever fanboys, some day you will be on par with the Duke Nukem ones.  The game is still a pipe dream and this time next year we shall see how it is doing again.

   Yea I haven't really followed this game, but I have heard its name around these boards and its nice to see something else approaching besdies WAR and AoC. Its going to be an interesting time for MMO's.

  I love classless and leveless systems. You never know who is a bad ass unless his armor and weapon strike fear into you when you see him. Its always lame for people to not attack you becuase you outlevel them. In this class type you dont know what your getting yourself into when you try and kill someone.

Theres not a definited lauch date, but it is coming in 2008 and we are already in may, so it in a couple of months.

They stated that they made a decision in a planning meeting. If you are not familiar with business meetings, then your in for a surprise. Blizzard had many "planning" meetings with all of their software, and I need not say how many times their games got pushed back. I'll start believing statements like this when the beta starts.

I am not suprised they decided Not to have an open beta after all they have been stringing us along for years now, and I also wont be suprised if they dont live up to these grand claims I mean it will be nice if they do but at this point I lost faith..... but then again I have never been the fanboy pack animal type.

The reason they dont want a beta or post videos/screenshots of their game is very simple; they want their game to be a surprise and let us discover the world by ourself.

This is just too funny. How about you show me videos of how the raids are better than WoW, and the PvP is better than WAR, and the graphics greater than Conan, or how the sea battles are better than PotBS. Also, I wouldn't mind if you throw in a video of a 500v500 player battle. laff
