All I can say is if you judge off the PvP weekend alone, you have no idea what you're talking about. That was to give a taste of PvP, combat gameplay, and classes.It was not representative of the whole game.

 

But at least Funcom is letting thousands of people play part of their game AND talk to the world about there experiences as they go along. How's Aventurine handling their open beta? Oh, that's right. They don't have one to handle.

But Zorvan, they say they have professional testers and are getting really close to open beta!

Yeah AoC sure did some smashing headlines on the AoC board after there so called OB. Its a teaser not a open beta where you can test the full game. And pay money for it is not making the greedy Funcom looking any better. And if im not wrong, most threads is about what a disaster AoC is. You need some new eyeglasses if you havent realized that AoC is described even worse then Vanguard, buggy as hell and crashes 24/7. Worthless unskilled PvP, instances, linear, and boobs. Its a kid game for the ones that never had any earlier experience of MMORPG games. The veterans is waiting for Darkfall.

I think Darkfall will still come out, they sure didn't spent all this time in development for nothing.  Even if the graphics appear a bit dated when the game comes out I'd be very happy.

Frankly I'm in the group of people who think Content is more important than appearance.

I'd rather lag less and have a slightly less flashy graphics engine than lag so much I can't even move.

I'd rather role play and PvP (RvR)  than mindless grind through a single player MMO and get to max level and quit.

when EQ came out I still played UO, why? cus UO was a better game.

Graphics a game do not make, and you may say they appear cartoony, but they don't have a horrible NEON GREEN AND PURPLE color pallet (cough wow cough)

No! I rather have the developer teling us to go and #"¤#* ourselves. Then they just go back and continues to do whatever they are doing.

Its almost pathetic when a developer are listening to everyone, and in the end it turns out to be crap just because of thet reason. Almost no wonder why only WoW clones are today.

More players now than when it was a pay game...

I've played quite a few game with lower graphics and had much more fun. I'm currently playing FFXI which is for all intensive purposes not a very graphic heavy game, it still has 500k subscriptions.

So yes, I do think the gamers will play a game that has lower end graphics, because it won't lag them out it won't shift their focus from roleplaying, AND it will force the developers to make something that has good story and play control and is something that I'd Want to play.

Rather than watching Video's of all these next Gen games and going WOW Thats just like Oblivion!

Which froze on my xbox 360 and computer and caused them to crash, even got a new PC and it still had issues.

Sorry but how PERFECT the water looks or how many pimples the teenage boy in the starting village has.

what would impress me is a good storyline with a balanced PVP and PVE system that allowed players of all levels and experiance to play together.

and I remember waiting for UO2 to come out... Waited like 2 years for them to say NVM!!

If they started listening to us, DF would never release, people change their minds too much.  I agree though, why should try and appease their forum fans?  2/3 of them will quit within a year after release.  Either they will just not like the game or they will get bored.  Most of the player will be people that don't actively follow DF or people that as of right now have never heard of DF.  I think this is just how any MMO is.  Last thing I want them to do is rush the game, Roma Victor did that and it didn't turn out well.  It had probably 1/4 of the features it promised at launch.  Of the ones it did have, many were implemented in an idiotic way.

I think soon all the trolls might leave.  If AoC turns out to be any good, the trolls will all be gone at least.

AoC will not rock, you know it and i know it. It will maybe be a semigod MMORPG if they solve their issues.

It will definetly not be a game for the hardcore PvPers so they will continue looking for there game. Some might play it for a while to pass time before a good PvP-game arrives.

Most active haters i seen so far here on the MMORPG site is the AoC ones. DF fans have a way higher maturity level overall.

this comment is so god-awful wrong it hurts.  it is gamers like you that are the cause for the slump the MMO genre is in right now.  you want graphics like AoC tried to accomplish, but just ended up with chunkiness and poor performance with more detailed and realistic graphics.

graphics dont need to be realistic to be good graphics. 

and FYI...the masses would much rather play a game with amazing features and gameplay than one with good graphics, that is just common sense.

i have seen the DF movies and screen shots...and they are plenty good enough for the present day and future.  why do people fear this game so much.
