If you like the concept of DF, you will wait for it. And nothing besides a official statement it have gotten cancelled will change that.  So whats really interesting is this: will you play it if it gets released?

If no, WTF are you doing here? I dont go and scream vapoware in the WAR forum, just because i dont like the concept of that game. And if you believe everything in the world is perfect and always work as you want...you are in for a hell of surprise.

So, relax......its only a game. Maybe it will come.....maybe it wont. But tat dont change the fact i really wanna play a MMO like Darkfall.

they upgraded the gfx and engine  which probly took them a while.

it didnt start because they didnt feel it was ready. they have stated several times they want the beta as complete and full of features as possible, they want a breif beta that will lead to a successful launch. Not a half ass beta that will sway people away from the game. There are all kinds of factors of why a small developement team could retract a beta statement, to call them liars just shows your ignorance. Since 2005 they have appologized for the false beta announcements and have henceforward made the statement "when its done" which is far more than many other companies will do.

Very interesting and valid points OP. I myself have not looked much into Darkfall. Only just recently heard about the game and have seen some cool videos on youtube. From what I saw it looks really unique.  I believe unique means good (in most cases). Who knows when or if it will ever be released but as people have said, if the game concept has a fan base and their are new videos of in game footage being released, of course people are going to believe and hope there is a future for Darkfall. Even if it's another 4 years I think there will still be a fanbase. Aint no stoppin it no matter how much abuse the game and it's fans take. I hope it's released and it's everything people have hoped for and more! :)

why would you think it will go beta this year? Because the devs said so? The devs also said beta would begin in 2003,2004,2005,2006, and 2007.

The guy from LOD that wrote a review of his short time playing seemed to think beta would be soon.  LOD is a well known guild in pvp games, I don't think they would piss everyone off by making fake reviews if it was vaporware.

The beta 2002 was announced by the Razorwax company to be released late 2002 or early 2003 before Razorwax emerged with Aventurine. The ambition level were raised after they two companies emerged and game 2002 have very little to do with the 2008 version of Darkfall. So here you is wrong.

There were never any beta promised by Aventurine 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007.

The Merger was at the beginning of 2003. In August 2003, they said beta would begin in a month. Thats a planned 2003 beta.
