Let's put things into PERSPECTIVE shall we? and dish out a little bit of a REALITY CHECK to delusional who still follow this 7 year old illusion and get excited over players standing on terrain screenshots.

Since this was first announced publicaly back in 2001 the only things they have EVER released from it are a few video's showing a camera floating around some buildings and terrain with 2003'ish graphics , some world screenshots , and some extremely basic gameplay vids that would not take any game dev studio any longer than maybe 6 months to do.

^ FACT. 

After 7 years they still haven't shown ANY of the following stuff in-game in any kind of functioning form. 

Skills or ability’s.

Character creation. - this one's really sad considering it's the earliest and most basic thing you develop for one of these games

Character customization

Character equipment and inventory

World map

Quests

Crafting

Resource gathering.

NPC hirelings

Guild interface

City building

City sieging

Login screen/character selection

NPC enemy camps

Banking, market, mail system

Travel system

NPC’s

Alignment system

Chat interface

Trading

So please.. let's stiop getting excited over some player models standing around some tree's.  Ya???   Ok.

This game would be absolutely perfect for a pen and paper table top RPG.  Because that's exactly what people do and have been doing while following this for all these years --- looking at some empty screenshots and videos , than filling in the rest with their imaginations.

In fact they have shown NPCs and character inventories and equipment. I know this, and I don't follow the game that heavily. So I'm willing to bet theres a few other "facts" on your list that are false as well. It doesn't help that you registered today just to make this post either

He still has a point though. They didn't really show anything to get excited about yet. And considering how long this game is in development just makes it worse.

If you think someone is a troll every time he doesn't appraise the game you're falling for, you are completely missing the whole point of having a forum at first place. It is called a "forum" for a reason. I think what you're looking for is more along the way of "Comments & Feedback" box, where people can't argue on them since they go straight to the developer mail box, (or trash) and where you don't have to debate your point of view.

Forum's are about keeping an OPEN MIND so a PRODUCTIVE DEBATE can occur. Calling other people's opinion not important or worst, "trolling" just because it goes against your way is both close minded, and counter-productive.

I'm skeptical of it too, but why do you even bother posting this kind of thing? Everyone is aware that the Darkfall devs are very tight lipped, for what reason we can only speculate. For most games, a lot of stuff in that list doesn't come out until beta or later. They're a very weird company, I'll admit though.

Posting excessive negative comments or baiting others to respond in a negative manner is considered trolling on the MMORPG.com forums.

I can't see anything positive with this thread. I bet we can't even give the FAQs from Aventurine about the game to change hes opinion in any point.

Maybe... I can't tell which incarnation of a possible previously banned member it is. I just have to focus on the point that he made, and since i tend to agree with most of what he says, i was just surprised to see the etiquette "troll" thrown at him.

I'm also aware of the troll description made by MMORPG.com, and i believe it's still just a judgement call. This removes a lot of the freedom we have to debate on many issues, because you could accuse any perfectly well thought post to be a troll bait as well. The line to cross to become a troll is not clear to me right now. If anything, what i'm saying here could be considered trolling by some of you for all that i know. (And then, it's pretty easy to all fall under the troll etiquette as soon as we oppose someones idea)

Anyhow... I wish a game such as Darkfall would see the day, because it has a lot of genuine concept that i would like to see implemented to break the mold of this industry. Alas, all the clues i have on the table thus far, leads me to believe it's one of the most inflated bubble of vaporware i've seen in a decade.

Says the person with 8 posts who also just joined the forums recently.

You have to understand, there is a phenomenon with the DF forum in that there is constantly people creating new accounts and the first (and sometimes only) thing they do is attack DF.  Most of us suspect they are the same folks, who just keep getting banned over and over, but the fact remains, their principle mission seems to be to troll this forum. (not saying you are btw)

So many of us are very skeptical of posters with short history here who do nothing but dredge up the exact same thing others have posted before.

Now, back to the OP's list of "facts" since I don't want to be off topic.  While its true the developers haven't shown us many of the features on the list, one problem with his argument is, just because he hasn't  seen them, doesn't mean they don't exist.

See, we're sort of at a stalemate, neither of us can really prove the other person wrong.

And so what if people want to keep hoping for DF to one day be released? Nothing wrong with dreaming, and it certainly isn't hurting any of the folks who decry the game to let them keep waiting for it.

No, I actually view the OP as a trolling attempt, rather than reasonable debate as you are suggesting.

Thanks for pointing out his post count, I didn't notice it previously, but new people that spend all of their time in the darkfall forum are usually multiple accounts created by one person (So one account can agree with the first).

Yes, the OP's post is an attempted flame - Hes been away for a week and he wants to justify why all the screenshots have been released. Is it 28days aka about 6 other names? - Yes probably.

The darkfall team actually said they had a stalker which had been sending them emails pretending to be publishers etc, and a few weeks back 28days said he had too !

Could this desperation for recognition be a medical condition? -I'll try to discover.
