Just curious
Heard lots about DF - some good.. mostly bad. haha but I like playing games for myself (many rip apart Aion or EVEOnline which I quite like for example).
So wondering if there was a way to try Darkfall without forking out the coin... I assume the monthly fees are the same as any MMO?
Any tips would be appreciated :) Cheers all |

not yet, but the next free content update may very well turn the game around. If it does, trials may come after. This is assuming they still intend to give out trials "when the game is ready" for them |

They still need to do something to entertain the newbies until they get competitive in PvP. |

I have meet players ingame already using a 10 - day free trial. Also i know they have been given in a live event (gamecard with 10 free days) and i have see media organizing a compatition with the gamecards offering free trial period as prizes. All these were exclusive stuff but as you can maybe imagine a first step towards free trials to the masses. Right now no free trials, but maybe soon. -----MY-TERMS-OF-USE-------------------------------------------------- Everyone who logs into NGE destroys a bit of the SW Universe. I wouldn't bet on any type of "free trial" that is the industry standard (create an account, download the client, log-in and play for two weeks). AV will need to control how many trials are offered. Their client can only hold 10k concurrent players (if rumors are to be believed). If a free trial is offered, everyone and their brother will be trying the game out. Not because they read a good review, but because of the notoriety surrounding the game. The one server in the US and the one server in EU would not be able to handle the influx of trial players.
The trial would have to be given out much like they launched. On your mark....get set....refresh. |

Interesting... thanks for the info. I was unaware their servers could only handle such a small flux of players.
I have been following Darkfall for a year or so now - but just never played it because of various reasons (I know at launch there was some problems and in addition it was hard to even track down a copy to purchase). I figured I'd at least see what it was like for myself as most people know - its better to try and see how YOU like it compared to anyone elses opinion of the game. So - long story short figured I'd ask. Appreciate the feedback all - Ill have to keep my eyes open for this. I quite like the "all on one server" though - they should structure it like EVE and have it in "shards" to hold more people across the entire server - which might give them more of a player base going forward (just a suggestion/thinking out loud) Cheers all! |

Of course there's no free trial. If people could try the game out for free, nobody would buy the game anymore, which means their main source of income is gone. |

They hoped for allow people to try before buy.
The important keyword is bold and underlined and makes the difference that so many people 'forget' to mention. -----MY-TERMS-OF-USE-------------------------------------------------- Everyone who logs into NGE destroys a bit of the SW Universe. I'd like to see a free trial, because some people will love the game. The more that try it the more will remain because the game suits them. I understand why they don't. First is the money, but more importantly it probably would be bad for the game. 1. Gold farmers would roll to new free trial account. Asdar |
