Yeah, you are right.

It is probably all the charge backs that all those quitting are doing that is causing Aventurine problems.  Credit Card banks don't like it when they get multiple complaints against the same company.  Eventually they black-list them.

It is one of the great benefits of using a credit card though.  A lot of CC banks allow for a very long time (around a year) to do charge backs.  There have been some posts on the official DarkFall forums of players doing charge backs not only for the purchase of the game, but all the monthly charges as well.

I'd imagine that the finances of Aventurine are a bit dicey if the number of those claiming to have done charge backs on the official forums are correct. 

Oh well... should make for an interesting next 3 months for DarkFall.

I also follow MMOs and other games im interested in, oh since you express interest in what I could do to have a more entertaining life, let me add I will be playing MO, why you ask? Bait and Switch requires the seller to refuse or make difficult the purchase of the original product. As you can still play the EU version and can buy either version this does not apply. Changing sales terms of preproduction items might be bad policy, but it isn't illegal. You still have the option to cancel your order.

Charge backs will fail if Adventurine can prove you logged in at least once. They will probably fail just for proving a shipping manifest.

Secondly: the comment was made just because i find it funny when players that dont play the game, dont want to play the game still have such an interest that they still want to tell people how glad they are that they dont like it :) actually how DELIGHTED they are :)

The official boards are way to full of jealots for me to be honest mate! so ill have to pass on that one :)

Actually it is...hate to pop that bubble. Even the DFO forums are dead, comparatively speaking. I did want to play the game, thus my interest, and quite frankly if was the ZEAL of a number of people posting here in favor of the game that made me really examine DFO critically. I honestly was at the page to buy it, and believe or not my gut instinct, and well...common sense, said no bud, halt right there. See how that works?

So you see my initial point to you was, you made a assumption, and well, you failed. That is why I made the, see what I did there comment initally, and frankly you still dont get it. Anyway...IM so very happy you are rocking in DFO. Have fun!

But yes i am having fun on DF and nice to see you havent labled me for it :) plenty of other posters label players that like the game as stupid, retarded or worse, just because we enjoy the game. The game may not be everyones cup of tea but it is mine.

I think most of us are mature enough to realise that the damage had been done to AV while we also recognise that it has been a brave effort from them. Darkfall has actually done a lot for non mainstream mmo's by actually trying to be different, hopefully other companys will follow Av and try to implement it better.

But dont forget it is still here! people are saying that they are in huge debt and that NA wont launch etc, but it is simply only our assumptions nothing more. if we look at facts we can be sure of certain things:

Darkfall is still running. I know this as i am a current subscriber.

They are patching regulary.

They are opening another client ( not to be confused with another server on EU )

So while a lot of us/you are saying that the game is dead and buried...lets just see shall we. does that seem fair?

I believe it and I will bet it came from a Mod that has a join date in March of this year just after Dork-n-Fail released.

Take that for what you will but sure seems to happen alot and is very coincidental to say the least.

Most patient people, and the intelligent ones, have waited to purchase the game WHEN the US server opened.  You people who didn't have anything better to do than buy a game with no official agreement to a US server b/c you didn't have the patience or the life to wait for it.....well I'm sure most of us have no pity for you.  You are just part of the online addicts these mmo companies exploit to make profits.

In all, don't bother the goverment with nonsense and idiotic complaints.  I am 100% percent positive they will no NOTHING about it.  Good luck though haha... dorks thinking you are starting a movement that is going to get you somewhere.. haha.

If they don't open a server that is fine. No issues. if they do not offer to transfer you, say for technical reasons, fine. Not all planned features pan out in development.

But based on the earlier marketing copy it looks like they are seeking to charge customers again for something that they already purchased. That statement about welcoming NA players onto the EU server is pretty damning. While not criminal, it certainly does open them up to civil action, or at the very least consumer complaints. It would be a more then good enough reason to request a chargeback from a cc provider.

And that really is the way to go. As an above poster said, contact your cc company and kill the charges. That will hit them harder and faster then any consumer complaints, any letters sent to the FBI or Interpol, and any civil legal action.

Agree that the charge back will have more immediate effect. I for one want companies like this to suffer lasting effects so that others don't try the same shit again. Like the effects that the French courts dropped on Farcelan for the theft of intelectual property that was used in Deceit-n-Lie.

The only answer is prison time and civil remediation with jokers like Av and their ilk. I sure would hate to be some paid shill like this board has when the shit hits the fan. If you have been putting out known falsehoods then you are also cupable in an action since you are an employee of Av. You know who your are and so do many others.

I will probably get a warning for this from some March 09 join date Mod since I didn't sing the praises of Dork-n-Fail, so be it. I am tired of the biased moderation on here and the whining of the failbots that have to report every post that doesn't sing the praises of Dork-n-Fail.
