Nope sorry this isn't communism, I get to choose my product and the product willing to put itself out their is the one I'm going to pick. I want something for nothing, hahaha, ..I want to see some concrete evidence for nothing, and if their not willing to give concrete evidence for nothing then their's alot of other companies that are willing to give info, free trials, etc for nothing. It's called advertising. I have a choice, and I choose to not give money to a tiny nobody company like aventurine. You can hold on to your hopes and feel bad for them but I don't feel bad for a company that doesn't want to help itself by advertising and giving out info for free because almost all other companies do that stuff for free. |

I DON'T SEE HOW THEY ARE LOWERING THE STANDARDS IN THE MMORPG UNIVERSE?!?!?!?! Turbine, Funcom, <Insert all Asian Developers>, SoE (distributor/producers, well they are behind the wheels) and so on are lowering the standards of MMORPGs, making 'shallow easy to master hold-your hand games' (picture an infant being fed from a baby food jar) so they can get as many people they can to buy their games. They wan't to make money more than they wan't to make a game. Aventurine is different. I can wait, everyone can wait for a game that breaks that mold, Aventurine owes no one but their financial investors and themself. They have sacrificed so many years of their lives just to create such a game, not you, nor any troll or any fan has been forced to mindlessly devote their attention to this game. But, all this commotion about Darkfall only prooves that it's something many people want, wether they can admit it or not. So calm down, you don't have to piss yourself or cut your wrists - Just live your life and check in on a daily, bi-weekly or weekly basis if there is anything new. forums.darkfallonline.com/showthread.php Tasos has sure been vague before in his announcements, he has not promised anything. If we compare what has been announced in the past with the "evidence" we got now, Darkfall is coming be it bad or good only time will tell. Do you wan't to feel my outside on your inside? Nope critizing a company for not giving free info is fine. Other bigger companies do it. The small companies can't do it but them being on a budget is not my problem. Yea I want something for free because I can get it with the bigger companies. I guess you don't like to watch the small companies get critizied and picked on because it can't compete with the bigger companies. Remember, in the end it's all about you. |

I don't care about status updates or anything of that nature. I rather them not waste their time and resources on public relations and make a damn good game. They don't need my input they are old pvpers and will do it right on their own. Second the game is not a hoax, beta is going well ;) Looking for a new game to play |

Ok this is going nowhere. MMORPG mods, is thier any possible way you could ask aventurine on a progress update and maybe ask them why they don't like releasing info. I see no harm in this. Please can I get a mod response to stabilize this thread. Thank you. |

Well ok heres my two cents: First off I am not a fan of adventurine or the fan base. But I do have to disagreee with the OP on how its lowering the standards. Im my past experances companys who are working in the shodows promising all this stuff thats going in the game, has very good reasons to be secretive. We dont have to look to far in the past for a recent example, Funcom with AoC. Endless promises on this new revolutionary game, but all we got to see pre-launch was eye candy videos of epic seige battles. I dont need to say what happened there with the seiges. So many promises, so many not delivered upon. TLDR: Companies that are being secretive this close to a target release date has something to hide. I think it highly unlikly that other companies would look and say "hey we dont have to prove anything to our fanbase" On the contrary I think it best benifits them to be more open about their game. That is if they are not trying to hide something. What I am fixing to say here will prolly lable me as troll (again) but this is what happened to me. I wasnt to big on the Idea of Aion, I first saw it many months back or so. Once closed beta started all this new info keept coming out. It seemed like NCsoft was trying to promote their game even when it was in CB. Before OB we had all this information on it the good and the bad. I have heard it all, anime crap, asian grinder, wow clone, etc. My point is atleast this info is out there for people to formulate their opinion on. Right now I dont feel that NCsoft is trying to hide something about Aion. With me that goes a long way when choosing an MMO. You can flame me for being an Aion fanboy or w/e but I was just comparing how the company is handeling the game vs how adventurine is doing. Waiting for: Final Fantasy XIV |

You want to satiate your desire for more info, why should a company pay to provide you with this when you haven't actually bought anything off them? Just because other companies do does not give them any moral obligation to do the same. The product is not in the shop they are not asking you to buy it yet. Even if it releases and there is still no information and the box has a blank cover with darkfall written on it in a plain font, I still would not accept that you have a legitmate complaint unless you have bought it. If you will not buy products that do not release information before that product is available then that is entirely your decision.

Anyway I would like you to check out a game called Infinity: Quest for Earth http://www.infinity-universe.com/Infinity/index.php Infinity is a very very small dev team (1-5 ppl?) and yet the devs still take the time to give updates on progress (via forums and blogs) and he even goes into detail of the technology and techniques they're using. Some people call Infinity vaporware (which it might be) but I see evidence that it is being worked on (progress updates). This is something df lacks, no updates so people are skeptical. Infinty is a dev team that I will watch because they keep their community informed so we know they're progressing and adding feautures. A company like aventurine keeps their community in the dark but why, well either they're to busy with the game dev or they don't care. Now if the small dev team that's making Infinity can keep their communtiy informed and dev a game (of massive scale) then I'm sure df devs can take the extra effort to inform their community of their progress. Serouisly check out Infinity: Quest for Earth, it's going to be a great game (hopefully). |

Ha ha, like you don't know it's true. When I think of the many developers out there with the money and clout to "buy" this sites bias in favor of themselves, a fourth rate startup from Greece living on both borrowed time and money isn't anywhere in that equation. |

Why? It's not like they are in a bidding war with Blizzard. The games are listed in alphabetical order. An extra 50 bucks is 50 bucks you didn't have before.
