What do you think of no leveling in Darfall? Do you like the normal leveling or advancing the skill you want by using it? I prefer the way it is! I want to hear your opinions in this subject!

thats what is good about this game. theres no combat levels. you learn skills and spells directly from other players and NPC. and the more you use the skills you learn the better you are at it. so a noob might learn a very powerful spell while some veteran doesn't know that spell yet but have something to counter it. this is why this system will be useful to protect yourself from players that want to kill you for no reason. this is also another reason that will support the no safe zones idea i talked about in "zones" topic under the wishing well forum.

I love it.. One of the main reasons being the first MMORPG I played was Ultima Online.. and I still consider that to be the best game I've played up to this date.. I'm really looking forward to Darkfall, though.. Hoping it'll be the game of my dreamas <3 |

It is definately going to be a milestone in the mmorpg market if they can back up everthing they are saying they are going to implement into the game. Also the skill system will be awesome! Finally a game were I can weild any thing or wear any type of armor without have to be a certain level.....yes I may not be good at weilding a mace because I specialize with my recurve bow but nonetheless I can weild it. I am really looking forward to this game. If sharing my all knowing knowledge offends you I apologize........kinda! |

Giving man a 2nd chance is giving man a 2nd chance to fail. |
Skill system i'm all for it. Played tons of games that had levels and countless hours hunting the same mobs for hours just to get to new content or the SWEET SWEET armor and weapons you couldn't get because its requirement is lvl 60 but your only level 1 and you know that months and months of grinding/quests are between you and that armor and weapon. The skill system will hopefully change this...I haven't played UO so I don't know how it was like in there. |

It's definately a great idea just because it's unique. Only good things can come out of it. For all the hype, this game better be what their making it look like. |

i'd go for the skill system too, but it would be good to know if there will be a skill limit like in UO (not only a cap for every skill, but also a total skill cap) |

um.... yep |
There has to be a total cap!!! imagine being 120 every skill in UO it would take forever but then u would be a god! if they dont put a max skill cap, it can cause a big balance issue. |

The devs haven't said a whole lot about how their skill system works - except that they've got hundreds of skills "on paper". You would think there would have to be something in place to prevent people from being able to max out and use every skill on a whim. Personally I hope they go with more of a GuildWars type model, in that you can only take X number of skills with you on the field, than doing what UO did with skill point hard caps. |

Looks great to me, I love the idea of a game where I can get right down to the nitty gritty.
Mandatory PvE for PvP = Teh Suk. |

There's not gonna be a hard limit in skills in DFO, only a soft cap. That means, you can learn as many skills as you want, but as you advance, its gonna get harder to raise your skill. |
