Also: Seg I always thought the light side was the naysayer side. They were always about some naysaying the darkies, telling them that their PvP was bad and that they would always lose. The Dark side was always saying "Join us and kill people, and be powerful and happy! Don't listen to those yoda naysayers...they are wrong!" Look what happened...they light side gets shot down a ton, but in the end its the emperor that gets blasted into ash and mist. |

Or more info, ya know, whatever. It's not like another company is going to read their blogs and then start developing their own version of the game and release it first. Tough to do, to begin with, it could be a patent/copyright issue, etc. |

I think the REAL question is --- how many games are still in Alpha after 7 years? Missed two simple bi-weekly dev journals back to back? Pretty abvious they're folding or should I say crumbling under the public pressure and rightfully so since this big mouth Tasos likes running around constantly hyping this shit to high heaven with his words and nothing to back any of it up... and than he has the guts to not do two dev journals in a row.. completely fucken pathetic. |

Sexiness is my best attribute, I put all my points in it. |
Get a life? Move on maybe? Do you people really just sit around waiting to see if they release a dev journal? I'd rather have them work on the game and never release a dev journal, it seems to me the regular dev journals have just led to more trolls because they realize DFO is actually going to be released. I had never even red a dev journal until around the beginning of this year. They could start open beta tomorrow and have every feature and then some and you trolls would still whine about something. I seem to remember a certain troll that said it would be best if there was just a information blackout until open beta. Guess that isn't true, since if they release information, the trolls complain, if they don't the trolls complain some more. Do you see why know one cares what you say except other trolls? All you guys do is whine, not even reasonable whining. Nevermind, I won't screw up you guy's fun. I mean, at least you can feel smart and important here. |

I have a feeling the next journal will be centered around answering questions from the DF forums, which I find less interesting than the others. (since the questions frequently seem almost inane)

This is the way the Darkfall ends Not with a beta but a whimper. |

Can you please provide a link for this article I have not read it. It certainly ceases to amaze me that a significant proportion of the supporters will accept that the developers of this game seem incapable of meeting the rather insignificant demands of maintaining there own update schedule not once but twice in a row. But at the same time believe that they are definitely capable of successfully releasing the most ambitious and complicated MMO ever envisioned. Imagine after release we are told the patch has been postponed “due to impossible work load and greek easter“, then after the next schedule is missed sorry no patch “due to circumstances beyond are control”. How can we be sure that there customer relations will not be as atrocious after launch as there community relations have been for the past 7 years? I disagree that they are crumbling under the pressure, what pressure? They have been developing an MMO for over 7 years and don’t even have a release date yet alone a beta date, never demonstrated there game publicly and enjoy one of the worst reputations in the industry for terrible community relations and failure to meet schedules. I don’t think any other MMO company in the history of the industry has ever been under so little pressure to achieve results. |

Originally posted by Catizone Your posts are very biased. So is the article you're referring to, which by the way was written by an AoC supporter. It's even called "Age of Conan Editorial: Piercing the Darkness". That in itself does of course not mean the text will be biased, but upon reading it, it's a little obvious. If I was developing something, I don't see how what people said would make me "crumble under pressure", much less something written by a bigot. Here's an excerpt from that "article":
"To run from one end to another at regular running speed could take more than eight hours." Eight hours? Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't you mention just a bit earlier that your number one priority is gameplay? If I'm paying 15 bucks a month to play an MMORPG, I do not want to be spending hours upon hours of my time during the month just getting from place to place. Again, the gamer is fickle, and attention spans are getting shorter and shorter these days (sadly). With the miracle of gaming technology players can be in a fight and or battleground at the click of a button. If I wanted to go on an eight-hour hike, I'd put my trusty pair of Adidas runners, walk out the front door and burn the fat off my own pasty-white gamer arse. www.warcry.com/articles/view/editorials/mitrasmethod/3542-Age-of-Conan-Editorial-Piercing-the-Darkness The author blatantly throws out arguments that have no merit. The entire map takes eight hours crossing on foot, and suddenly that's synonymous with having to spend hours upon hours getting from place to place? He doesn't want to go on an eight hour hike? Does he really think that if the game is released, people would have to spend hours upon hours getting from place to place, even going on eight-hour hikes? I'm not going to say more, the "article" does a good enough job on its own at discrediting itself. The author passes on a very good opportunity at questioning the lack of information on Darkfall. If it was done reasonably, objectively, there could be hope that it would influence the DF developers. Instead, the text is simply a trolling post disguised as an article. That abomination of reason, that is in no way resembling a proper article, is the pressure you suggest the developers are crumbling under? Are you insane? If the public rejected their concept, that would be pressure. If a major gaming site played a version of their game and said it sucked, that would be pressure. What you pass off as pressure... no. Doesn't even come close. The public can indeed pressure them with their lack of showing a game meaning they don't have a game. But if they have a game, that won't matter to them. If they actually don't have a game, I'm pretty sure they don't need the public to tell them that. Yeah, there is enough information, or lack of it rather, to believe they won't manage to release a product. Assuming they do release, there is reason to believe it won't be what they say. None of those reasons are because of this "pressure" you speak of though What excactly are you trying to achieve with your posts? To convince people there's no point in hoping for this game? To prove the game won't be released, or that it will suck? If it's the former, you will certainly not achieve it by trolling. If it's the latter... it's pointless, you obviously can't prove that. Stop posting. |
