one thing i want back that really pissed me off was when darkfall announced that there would be no flying! a game this good without flying, its like glasses without the lens. darkfall better bring back that quality. |

You have to use flying spells to fly in DF, you cant fly othwewise

It wasn''t the long fall from the top that got him, it was the sharp sudden stop at the bottom. |
One thing to consider is the dev's have said many times that the entire world is hand crafted, so it is likely that they could put a more complex form of flying in at a later date.

I'm fully aware of their (devs) behavior through the years, but there could be a number of reasons for that, NDA for example. As for how long it has taken, there really isn't anything strange in it. For one, MMOPRGs take a lot of time to develop, especially if you're an indie developer making a project as huge as Darkfall. Game ran out of money? You have a link or some prove to go with that, or is this one of those educated guesses again? Banning for asking about vaporware? Can you blame developers for this? DF forum is not moderated by them, but by forum mods that are more than fed up with these sort of guestions, guestions that are obviously nothing but trolling. Or do you really expect developers to come and answer "yes, Darkfall is just vaporware kthxbai"? And no, they have said there will be no flying in Darkfall (maybe for very, very short distances but that's all). |

But the devs have told us about spells to fly I will try to find the quote, but it says something "if you look at some screenshots, you can see they are taken from air".....thats the flying spells in working order
But i hope there is no flying, maybe some gliding from high hights. |

Flight was in earlier, but the devs removed it. Simple magic spell or something....maybe they will put it back again |

It's out and staying out. There are plenty of reasons for it. You can still use the physics of the game and "blast" yourself through the air toward a higher vantage point, etc. a la Team Fortress 2 soldiers, but there is no flying, no flying mounts, no purple items. |

. I doubt the devs will include any more flight than this because it isn't necessary. We have been told already that we can get everywhere with flight, and I see no point in fluff like flight included in DF puching the release date further back. Also, the devs are trying to make Darkfall realistic, and unless you send me a picture of you flying, I am content to say that flight is impossible in RL.
