I downloaded the 1.2 gig file, installed and updated, but when I launch the launcher, it gets hung up in "checking" phase. Anyone else able to launch this game? Anyone else have the same problem and was able to find a work-around or fix?

It is a known problem. The forums are buzzing with people (myself included) with the same issue. I was accepted into closed beta and never was able to log in, not even once. They should NOT have launched this game it was clearly not ready yet. Another fail from developers who thought making an mmo was easy ;)

Yeah I think they rushed the Beta and launch a little bit early. But I was able to log in and play for a while before the missions and quests bugged out. Now I am stuck at the "Checking" phase again. But so far I like it. Can tell it was made for very casual gamers. But yes, check their forums. The devs always try to make posts every page or so to let people know what the problem is and how it can be fixed. They have a IRC channel as well

Same thing for me here, I just uninstalled and am gonna wait a week or two. I kept getting stuck in the checking phase as well. I checked the WE forums, and they did say to "run as administrator" if you are using Vista. I did this to no avail. I think the servers are just getting hammered right now.

I think I will just wait a lil while longer.

I'm playing without problems, pretty nice game.

Just lucky i guess - i was in CB and couldn't log in due to this problem.

Did you happen to do the full download or the fast one. I wonder if that has anything to do with it i did the fast one

I did the same thing. I even tried to run in capatability mode, but nothing changed. That is, until 15 minutes later and the launcher screen popped back up and showed it was downloading an update. 15 minutes to get to this screan? Seriously? Again, not a good sign. Now I have to wait for the updated updater to update the game. We'll see if it works after that.

The big one - the fast one is useless - you have to wait few minutes for each area to load, which is horrible because you won't be able to play with anyone - everyone will leave after seeing that you are downloading something.

Game is good, but it shouldn't be released yet imo. Only for patient players ;)

Argh, I'm having the same problem. I don't have any patience for this kind of stuff. These are things that should have been fixed during the Alpha and Beta phases. Going to uninstall.

I downloaded the full install and it is consistently crashing on me. Was able to play through the opening area, but browsing through the Hall causes it to crash. The strange this is that it is crashing when I perform an action that previously worked.

Perhaps background apps that are running interfere with the game? Not sure. It seems like it'd be a decent game, esp. for F2P, if it wasn't locking up and crashing.

Stuck on Checking since an hour. Yawn. I downloaded the game because I'm bored, at leasts it's entertaining my boredom.

If you are stuck on checking you probably have wrong client, thats what happend to me...

Better not try to play this....this "game".......
