Volstag writes: ah runescape the game that everyone hates. When i was younger i played runescape with some friends from my school. it seemed most of the school played it. i brought friends in, ignored a few more and generally enjoyed the game. some of the m stopped playing but i continued on with a few friends and after many mishaps became a member with a few friends. I saw runescape change while i was playing it and sadly it seems to be for the worse. tech wise the game has certainly gotten better. with graphics and sound. but everything else not so much. they got rid of the wilderness (pvp zone) and ruined much of the intense nervousness. the sense of danger. they added the GE which ruined a lot of the challenge of finding an item you need. Now adays they seem to almost be forgetting the game altogether. but for all my bad memories there were good ones too. i remember joining a clan fighting in the wild and overall having a good time. nowadays that doesn't seem to be the case. Clans have become annoying gatherings of elitists and to replace the wild they added pvp worlds which are just brawlfests. i dont know why they made these decisions and the people hate it. there subscription #'s were cut in half. But no matter how many things i say i hate about this game i still like it. no matter what happened i always seemed to have a little fun with it. Runescape is an interesting game and it doesn't deserve the hate it gets. i have had fun with it and i'm sure many others will enjoy it too. Sun Nov 29 2009 10:09AM
Darkmagic76 writes: I have been playing Runescape since 2002 and I have not had any other MMO impress me more than Jagex’s Runescape. If you look at Pictures of the graphics from 2002 and relate them to the 2009 graphics you will understand how much Jagex puts into this game and how much it has developed over the years. Yes, it may not be the best, but that doesn’t completely make it a bad game. Runescape uses the latest java technology and runs right on the browser. A regular player can usually begin playing in less than 10 minutes. Most other MMOs, you have to buy a disc valued at 50 dollars, take hours to install it, and pay outrageous prices. I feel the membership is excellent value and I would recommend it to anyone. The only pitfall is the music could be improved a little and the customer service. Because Jagex is such a small company it’s difficult to get one on one service which de-values the game. However, I still gave it a 7 because it’s not all that hard to get help. I usually have all my problems sorted within a few business days. Mon Oct 19 2009 8:20PM

PhelimReagh writes: Runescape is very good for a browser-based game, but in comparison to the market as a whole it is utter rubbish. Worth $5/month I guess, but I'd rather pay $10/month for a game 1,000% better. Tue Sep 08 2009 8:04AM
Majin_Vegeta writes: RuneScape is by far the most honest MMORPG on the market to date. They have done the most to combat RWT, when compared to other MMORPGs, and bots are virtually non-existent anymore. I have played RuneScape for years, and even in college I find myself coming back at least twice a year, just to see what is up. Jagex staff respond regularly in forums, and the CEO even speaks on forums, answers questions, and speaks in clan chats in the game. RuneScape also doesn't require to re-roll a character if you want to raise another skill, or try a different class. One character can raise every skill and be any class they want. The game also has over 15 forms of PvP, including forms of dangerous PvP where you and your opponent can lose each other's armor upon death. There is much to gain in dangerous PvP, as well as much to lose. Risk vs Reward. Sat Aug 22 2009 12:36AM
Computer1337 writes: Recently quit RuneScape after 4 years. The game is really fun as it has a great skill system, but other than that.. the customer service is horrible.. pvp isnt great.. graphics were "updated" about a year ago.. but they still suck.. etc. I would give RuneScape a try if you have never played it, but be warned its not the greatest mmo out their. It used to be really good until Jagex (the creators) ruined the game. Mon Aug 17 2009 9:53PM

Bonemane writes: Forget what other people say. People who play Runescape don't live in caves, the people who say this are just snobs and honestly deserve a good beating. Runescape was once a fun game that everyone could enjoy, but lately the company that made it so big "Jagex" is slowly destroying it by taking away major components of the game and replacing some of them with crappy childish projects inorder to usher in a new fanbase of 'Infants' and supposedly drive away the Mystical Overhyped Monsters that are RWT and Hackers. Overall the package you get for membership fee is overwhelming with many quests to do and places to explore. The sound is top notch with literally hundreds of songs that are played throughout the game. Interms of customer service Jagex doesn't listen to the main complaints which are against decisions they've made that ruined the game, but they update the game itself more than any other MMO I've seen. Sadly, the community that Jagex created by opening the game up to children is what destroyed Runescape. There are hundreds of children running about that are just insufferable and some teens as well. Ranging from distasteful/disrepectful language and harassment they can really get on your nerves. Then, these people get to be mods and create problems with the customer service by muting, banning innocent people to which there's no hope of undoing because Jagex rarely unbans someone no matter how many petitions are signed. All in all even though Runescape has changed significantly over the years it still remains a great game and the numbers speak for itself. Runescape has been estimated to have atleast 4 million subscribers (which are down to prob 500k now after updates) so don't let anyone tell you different. Sun Jun 21 2009 6:11AM
