It does however have one great thing going for it: YOU CAN PLAY IT WHILE DOING SOMETHING ELSE. For me, i play this while watching TV. It is a game you can play without giving it your full attention. This really is a good thing once you realise the good things about this. Probably the best browser based MMO out there. Screw that facebook crap. Tue Jan 31 2012 11:38PM

Seinaru writes: IF you can get over the graphics, this is really a good game. I've always told myself, if only this game had tolerable graphics, I'd rush to subscribe... Also, free accounts are SEVERELY limited, so subbing is pretty much a must unless you're playing really casually. It's relatively cheap though. Mon Jun 20 2011 10:20PM

Mequellios writes: I've had a members account for over five years. Overall, it's not a real bad game. GRAPHICS - They aren't super great, but it is a browser game, and I'm not picky when it comes to graphics. I can jump from games like Bad Company 2 or Left 4 Dead, to games like Minecraft and Runescape without the change in graphics bothering me one bit. The importance of graphics are highly overstated. They are always improving them, though. SOUND - The sound is meh. I usually play with it off and listen to my own music. ROLE-PLAYING - I'm not much of a role-player, but I can imagine this game being pretty good for it. It's skill-based so you can build your character how you want. VALUE - For $6 measly dollars a month, you get quite a bit. More than what most MMOs offer. FUN - The game can be fun when you play and compete with your friends. Otherwise, it's dreadfully boring when you get to the higher levels. Training skills is a huge grind, but can be rewarding. The economy is probably my favorite part of the game and my favorite economy of any MMO. It's very realistic. The quests are very nice as well, but require grinding to be able to do them. They aren't just cookie cutter MMO missions, though. Many of them are well thought out and interesting. They range from goofy to epic, long to short, easy to hard. COMMUNITY - I don't think it's as bad as people say it is. Yes, much of it is younger kids, but there are some older folks in there as well. The members world is much better than free world in terms of community interaction though. PERFORMANCE - I haven't had many issues with performance. I does fail to run on some lower systems which it used to be able to, but these are few and far in between. For the most part, it will run on just about any system. In terms of bugs, I don't think I've ever really seen any in-game. Jagex is VERY good at bug-squashing before they release an update. CUSTOMER SERVICE - Not much to say here. Haven't had to deal with it much. CONCLUSION - Give it a whirl. It might be worth your time if you have friends that play it, or friends that are open-minded enough to try it. It's sort of an off and on game for me. I play it a few months, stop for a few, so on and so forth. Since all my friends quit, I usually get bored fast and log out. I might try to get the old gang back together again (or start a new one), but many of my friends gave their accounts away, while others just don't have the time anymore. Wed Feb 16 2011 1:51AM

Sickit writes: The graphics aren't that great, but remember this, Runescape is a browser-based game. It is not to compared with those downloadable games like WoW. However, the game role can be appealing to some players; mining, fishing, woodcutting, dungeoneering, etc. There are many varieties to choose from, not only just to PK. PKing is quite popular in Runescape. There were many issues with it; Jagex removed it on 17 December 2007, and they are returning it in 1 February 2011. This has made a huge come back of players who had quit in 2007 - giving Jagex a chance to gain popularity once again. The community of Runescape was quite bad back then. Now, Jagex is trying to 'communicate' with players by making events in-game and answering questions - finally keeping up with players who had been helping the community. Back then, Runescape rarely lag. Now, there are many objects and new items in-game, it makes the servers lag quite often. It is a browser game after all. I think it's doing a pretty good job. jeme223 writes: very good game.... its one of those games that doesnt make you pick a class... you can be whatever you want whenever you want. Plus they are going to bring back the wilderness and free trade (what originally killed the game when they got rid of it)plus they are constantly updating it and are actually listening to their players. this game has improved so much graphically and gamplay wise. If you have played this game before and quit before you got anywhere, id say try it again because this is easily the BEST browser based MMO out there and can easily compete with any other out there. This game holds a record for most players, so go see why so many play it. Wed Dec 29 2010 11:41AM
