    The Runescape site has been updated with information about what players can expect as April rolls out. New guild support, a reworked death mechanic, an Easter event and a royal wedding will be added to the game in April. Devs have laid out all of the plans in an informative dev diary.

  • New Novel Coming Friday

    Jagex Games Studio has announced the release date for the second tie-in novel based on Runescape. Called "RuneScape: Betrayal at Falador, Return to Canifis", the novel takes off where the first book ("Betrayal at Falador") left off. Penned by T.S. Church, the novel will be officially released on Friday, March 25th.

  • Clan Celebration Month

    The RuneScape dev team has announced that the official Clan Celebration Month is now in full swing through April 3rd. Devs are promising a month full of adventures to highlight the best aspects of the clan system and to shine the spotlight on the large variety of clans within RuneScape. In addition, devs have announced that the next bonus XP weekend will commence on March 11th.

  • Update Information

    The Runescape team has sent out the latest "Behind the Scenes" peek at updates scheduled to be implemented in the near future. March will see the implementation of the Elemental Workshop IV quest and the Artisan's Workshop, an update to the Smithing skill. Additionally, March will feature a double XP weekend, Ring of Wealth improvements, graphical updates to Trollheim and a new pirate quest.

  • Bloody Valentine's Weekend

    RuneScape players will want to check in this weekend for a bloodthirsty series of events to celebrate Valentine's Day. Players can participate in the Valentine's Day Massacre PvP Event or sell PvP items in the hosted marketplace. There will also be a guessing game with players estimating the final death count by the weekend's close.

  • Wilderness & Free Trade Return

    Jagex has announced that both the Wilderness and Free Trade have been returned to RuneScape. Developers indicate that players will now be able to give gifts to their friends, have access to unrestricted trade, and take part in the most dangerous sport in the whole of RuneScape: Wild PKing! In addition, the dev team will be introducing several other updates in February including a graphical overhaul of gnomes and reshaping the pottery making system.

  • International Fight Knights Return

    Jagex Studios and the Runescape development team have announced the return of International Fight Knights. International Fight Knights pit players from around the world against one another in an international competition to become 'boss'. The winner of last year's inaugural event was the team from Poland that beat out much larger teams from other locations.

  • Second Annual Jagex Cup Clan Tournament Announced

    Jagex recently announced details on Runescape's second annual Jagex Cup clan tournament. The tournament consists of three separate competitions, the Combat Cup, the Skilling Cup, and the Combined Cup. Over 500 clans participated in last year's inaugural tournament, and Jagex expects even higher turnout this year.

  • Dungeons of Daemonheim Now Live

    Dungeons of Daemonheim, the latest expansion to RuneScape, is now live. Daemonheim features a new skill called Dungeoneering which is available to both members and free players, and allows players to gain access to the Daemonheim castle, which is made up of 35 underground floors. Once inside Daemonheim castle, players can team up with up to five others to tackle each floor, which is made up of randomly generated rooms that scale to the skill level and abilities of the players entering it.

  • Web of Shadows Halloween Event

    Web of Shadows is the name given this year's Halloween event in Runescape. In the event, players will travel through a portal that has appeared south of Falador and enter the house of the Grim Reaper. Your task? To aid Death himself in ridding of an uninvited guest. Players who complete the event will be rewarded with two new wearable items, one of which apparently has a mind of its own!
