EA and SOE

EA for having the worst support EVER in the history of games (yes even worse then those who dont even give support...at least they tell you they dont support)

Plus that EA is very greedy.....even single player games from them have item shops.

SOE........even more greedy then blizz these days.....these guys have nothing to do with gaming anymore.

sadly i have to admit that you are right.....as for myself, i never buy these item but its realy F***** up that when i buy single player games (example dirt 3) i need to buy the extra cars.....in the old days they where included in my racing game.

So i spend 40€ for half a game these days.....if i want the other cars it will cost me about 80€ on top of that.

So i uninstalled it (altough i liked the game) out of protest.....but i guess i am one of the fiew who isnt paying up.

    Hmmm . . . NCsoft developed City of Heroes in conjunction with Cryptic, bought out Cryptic and then set up a studio (Paragon Studios) to keep developing CoH, but still owned them.  I would call NCsoft a developer based on that.

    Anyways, I would say SOE is the all time WORST developer in the last decade.  If SWG and FFIV don't convince you, then Sony's complete lack of security for their online customers should.

I voted Failcom.  The only SOE MMO I bothered playing was EQ2, but my issues with that game were about personal taste.  Failcom really messed up with their launch of AoC.  I doubt TSW can fix that.

To be honest I only consider two MMOs to be AAA, at least based on launch.  Those are WOW and SWTOR.  The rest have much smaller budgets and less prestigious developers.  That doesn't make the other MMOs worse, they just didn't have the development might/dollars behind them to be considered AAA titles.  It looks like GW2 may fit the bill though.

Turbine is on my list of crappy developers, but only starting with the SoM expansion for LOTRO.  Things have gotten progressively worse since then.

Trion sounds like a great company as far as customer service goes, but all they did was copy WOW.  I was already sick of WOW when Rift was launched. 

Mythic.  Still waiting to see how this whole Mythic/Bioware thing turns out.

Umm you should read post history or maybe just the comments in this thread, just so you know, he turned his back on SWTOR a good time ago...

I am surprised no one's hating on Blizzard in this topic.

Anyway I never understood what people meant by AAA developer. I thought that was a company with lots of money to invest in an MMO.

Not surprisingly SOE is winning. I mean they haven't released a good MMO since EQ 1 so I guess they deserve that spot not to mention the SWG fiasco.

SOE has nothing to do with the Final Fantasy series. As much as I hate SOE for the things they do get wrong, they had nothing what so ever to do with FFXIV being the craptastic game that it is.

That is Square Enix that screwed FFXIV all kinds of up.

Far as the security, yeah that was screwed up. But other companies have had problems with their security as well.

I voted for other, since I didn't see BioFail up there.

Bioware in its old form does not exist. It is wholey owned by EA.. And trust me EA is one of the worst thereby Bioware is in the same boat being an extension of its master..

Furthermore the poll isn't clearly defined, do you mean worst developer as in ethics (ie buying game companies, rebranding everything to their name, destroying their rep then moving on. Ie Origin-EA, EA-Mythic, Bioware-Mythic, not to mention making deals with indie developers then breaking yoru contract (/cough Bethesda's work on Madden) Or do you mean an actual poorly coded/managed product.

SOE might be guilty of the latter, But EA is guilty of both...

My vote for worst studio (and publisher) is EA..

SO SOE, even though they are bringing us DCUO which is a ton of fun, EQ2 Free to play and then Planetside 2 ?

In my opinion, it is time for forgivness. I'm not a SWG player and cant imagine the atrosity that befelled that game, but if I can forgive Turbine for the f2p lotro, then SWG fans should beable to forgive SOE.

My personal pick was Funcom, they have done everything possible to lose players in AoC. Recenetly they are to lazy to even post patch notes. There inability to perform the most basic task is mind blowing. They really think people will buy TSW so much they are willing to abandoned their current AoC player, not even releasing qualitt updats. Also think they are now a money grabbing leading on EA with TSW as they get ready to cash out of the mmorpg business.

I miss CCP on that list .........
