I got so much |
Runescape I never really took this game seriously. I guess its horrid community reputation (and slow ugly client) always put me off. But as I found out yesterday. The game client got vastly improved. Plus the game is sandbox style , skill centric - and last but not least it also has random roguelike dungeons.
So why does it still has bad reputation. And is this reputation deserved , or maybe its a hidden gem ?

Well this game as a notorious reputation for being very "childish". Mainly because it draws a lot of little kids, I know I first started playing it in the 6th or 7th grade. (19 now) Though, I can understand why someone in there 20's would not want to play with a 10 year old. I think that, and it's community mirroring the age group is it's main reason. The game reallly isn't that bad though, it's actually quite fun. If they would make the draw distance a lot more, and a few changes...I really think it would compete with some top end games. Honestly, the bad reputation has plaqued runescape for years and is the result of a small amount of the population ruining it for the rest. I have found the style of Runescape to be the easiest to make friends on and talk to. After playing at least ten other MMO's I still believe there are more people that talk and communicate in RS in any other game that I have played. |

it funny how Jagex manage this game. =D beside silly looking for an adult rules, which are not even respected by most of the game players, RS is now looking like big on-line casino: silly flower, dice and few other games, duel stacking etc etc.; not mentionned pure scam, which is not stoped either, and not clearly explained on front page or loading tips. can anyone imagine WoW players ./roll for win some cash?=XD and sadly Jagex makes nothing to stop it. same time game is totaly botted, and Jagex makes nothing much to stop it. at member worlds players are somehow more mature then at f2p, so it is possible to have good play mates there, but f2p community is more then horrible. seems to me that if Jagex staff would care more about players, game could be cleansed of junk & gain reputation & customers. I enjoyed Runescape when I played it. The quests are actually my favorite part about the game. RS doesn't have many quests, but boy do you get a sense of accomplishment when you finish them (excepting some of the earlier ones of course). Heck with some of the highest level quests I got a sense of accomplishment for even being able to get the quest. But it gets really grindy at high levels. I keep popping back in to see I could keep playing, but honestly the memory of so much grind turns me off that idea pretty quickly. I mean maybe I'm just looking at it all with rose tinted glasses, I did play when I was in grade school, but I really enjoyed RS. I especially miss the quests though, 'cause even when there was only 30 or so of them, that was still more than enough to keep me occupied. Also exploration was really fun, lots of neat places to go. |

RS can be fun, but huge XP for high lvl skills make it too grindy IMO. Laly with love |
