(is still laughing at the fact you think that is risky ) What is risky is possibly logging in in the middle of a clan war .. ( oh yea you can't do that anymore )other than that there isn;t much on runescape that is risky after level 120.

The wilderness ISNT safe. they added a feature to prevent that from happening. It's possible that its even more dangerous to walk through now.

Actually that is the funny thing about all this.. it is doing the oppostie. It is weeding out all the 20+ crowd like myself, my family and my friends. The updates are geared for the kiddies not the adults. Now those lil kiddies will get some cute pokemon pets to summon up on the 1st lmao. Ask around .. you  will see that most of the adults left over the updates.. not the kids.

RuneScape had to do what they had to do to remove Real World Traders. They said themselves, they arent exactly gaining members from this. They had to do these updates to save the game. That's something alot of kids are having trouble understanding.

Actually you have this wrong.. Jagex deleted the posts prior to the updates listing the better options that are being implemented elsewhere to stop rw traders, scammers, bots, and hackers but they did not want their public knowing this prior to their updates and removed the posts, and banned the ADULT posters from the forums so they could not make suggestions anymore. They did not open themselves up for suggestions until after the massive ADULT member walkout.  The kids are the ones that think Jagex had to do what they did, the adults are smarter than that because we have looked into better options other than ruining the game. And just in case you haven't noticed this did not stop rw item traders this only increased the numbers of " perfected bots" they are selling entire accounts for real $ that are stocked with $ and skills.  There are ads for them everywhere online.  So basically the way most people see this runescape vs rw trader war is that the rw traders won and runescape community lost.

Jagex has ruined Runescape.  Starting with not allowing the trade of holiday drops and ending with the new trade restrictions.  I was Irfon in RS.  Lvl 118 F2P.  F2P are treated like second class citizens now.  They forget some of us are the Ancient Ones....the first players.   RS has become more and more a P2P game.  I would quit RS but there is no way to guit in F2P, so I just dropped my millions and left :(

No one is quitting because it is "too safe". People are quitting because with this new update, you lost the freedom of the old wildy. Like Deviliscious said , e.g. Logging in to a middle of a clan war or finding that a high level clan jumps you. That's risky.

Most people who PKed with pures weren't little kiddies. Would a level 3-20 who has never played the game before suddenly decide to make a pure? I don't think so...

 

 

In my humble opinion, having been a long-term runescape player, (due to weak computer.) the new updates did hurt runescape. The player amount dropped dramatically, the new trade system eliminated merchanting, pking has been mutilated, and all this to lower scamming and real world trading. There will always be real world trading, and as long as there are people, there will be scamming. What I have to ask , is, Was it worth the loss of players to slow down illegal works? We'll see.

Here is most of the stuff that is now gone.

- No trading cooked for raw/raw for cooked
- No trading herbs for seeds/seeds for herbs
- No trading herbs+seconds+vials for pots
- No trading straight herbs for pots
- No trading cannonballs for steel bars
- No trading fletching supplies for finished products
- No giving double nats
- No trading hides for range armor sets
- No running bones to someone at your altar
- No law running
- No running planks for someone
- No training firemaking and woodcutting together. One person cuts the logs and gives to someone else to burn.
- No hiring people to tan your hides for you
- No giving free loads of fish to people when you're power
fishing
- NO World 16, air's for essance program.
- No tab making companies
- No ore running
- No X-Mas Gifts, No helping friends no charity to new players!
- No ESS FOR RUNES >.<
- No BARS FOR ARMOR
- No ore for knives
- No reliable way to make money
- No drop parties
- No rewards from clan wars
- No chivalry in pking
- No customer service
- No fun
- No point in playing anymore.

By the way, my username here used to be Runefruit10, same as my RuneScape username, but with this I got so mad and finally quit RuneScape and made a new account here.

Surely they could make some allowances for rune/ore running, like a "running zone" were the trade cap would be higher and u could still rune run. Who said law running was still possible through the assist system?? No more benefit for the runner. And what about free stuff to newer players? Jagex said they were trying to improve the community with these updates. I don't think so.

Having said that, the trade restrictions they have implemented, not allowing anyone to give items away above a certain value and not allowing trades to be made unless the items and coin involved, from both parties, is within close proximity of value, are brilliant. This is a sure fire way to reduce RMT sales significantly. It also prohibits players from twinking which is a good thing, since everyone should earn their way.

It would be wonderful if every MMOG adopted this trade restriction mechanic. It does however require that the developer employ a full time staffer to maintain and update a per server item value database so as not to stifle the player economy.

I would probably say WoW. To people who play RS and may have only just started on MMOs, WoW is probably the most publicised game for most people who don't have any other knowledge of MMOs .

For that poll i voted WoW cos i know a lot of people who switched from rs to wow. Also like to say i used to be addicted to that roller coaster tycoon game in your poll when i was about 10 :p

How wrong you are about the game changes. If you want a PVP or Pking type of game, then get off of the game that  was designed for skillers, not killers.

Oh and to the guy that claims that Adults canceled their accounts do to the updates. Who are you the majority? im 34 and all my Adult friends still play.

Dont label others when you are merely one person, my friend. 

I love the updates because i hated the drastic price changes, and i hated the brats that only played the game to get with 12 of his other buddies to kill people that were minding their own business.

There are so many games out today that you can play that are specifically designed for killing people, so go to WoW if thats what you want to do, but you wont like it either, cause a person has to be flagged for you to be able to kill them.

Nothing is wrong with the changes of Runescape, its just the winers that only focused on doing one thing that are complaining, and we dont want them on our game anyway cause they are just a pain in our patuyee.

I challange you to attempt to gain skill levels up instead of focusing all your time getting on forums to complain about a game you dont even want to play anymore.

If you dont like it, leave it, and give the game back to the true Runescape skillers.
