I don't think it sucks but I'll give you 10 bad reasons about it

1.It gets very repetitive

2.Only 1 race and 3 combat skills

3.The community is very horrible and dull at times

4.Quests lack imagination and reward

5.The graphics aren't that good

6.Even slang words are blocked even though it has a 13 age rating on it

7.Making money is very slow and gets boring and repetitive

8.Dull combat system.

9.No proper party\team system

10.It can be very boring and takes up alot of time.

alright you want to know why runescape sucks?

1) combat- all you do is freaking click and slash, no skill involved, no thought process needed

2) traveling- along with having to click every 5 seconds to move, it takes multiple minutes just to get from one area to another cause you have to run everywhere

3) levels- all the game is based on is who has the better level, since theres no skill involved if you have the better level you win

4) community- you can say all you want about the small majority of the people who are good, but you cant go into any city with out people trying to steal your pasword, beg for money, or brag about something

5) lack of content- if your not going to have good combat, you better have a good story line, or entertaining quests. but they are no better collext x,or kill x. sure maybe x will be a ghost or a vampire or something but its still the same

6) lack of varity- you have no variety and what you want to be. your human, thats set. and then they just have the baisic spell caster, sword swinger, or bow man. you arnt actually even one of those classes, you just get to level them

7) graphics- sure games arnt based on graphics, but if your game is going to be this bad you are going to need better graphics then what a 10 year old could draw

8) lack of custimization- with the few diffrent kinds of armour, and the little custimization you have. everone looks like a clone of the person next to them. sure maybe you can be super rich and buy some unique clothes, but you shouldnt have to grind just to look diffrent

9) grinding- the game is just a big ball of grind. sure mmo's need grind to survive, but runescape goes to far. i dont think theres one thing in that game that isnt grind, you shouldnt have to grind to compete

10) over all game play- if i can only just click something to start attacking it, have to stand next to a person who looks exactly like me, click every where to move (you can say all you want but its far insuperior to moving with wasd), have to watch it with horrible graphics, and will always be a level below someone else, i dont see why i should keep playing it

i don't support this game i know it sucks i had 5-6 years experience with it and in almost every mmo guess what each class gets a little of buffs example: ragnarok online lets see acolyte gets buffs and heal priest wich is descended acolyte gets more buffs even swordsman gets buffs archers do too ninja gunslinger it all gets buffs and thats not just ragnarok wow has buffs gw has buffs eq2 has buffs ff XI gets buffs buffs are in every mmo deal with it.

Go look at "Combat Triangle and Tactics" in the Runescape knowlegebase, only three combat skills hence "Combat Triangle" hence very limited PvP options.

I am an MMO adict myself, I have played WoW, RFO, Runescape, EVE, Lineage 2, Guildwars, City of Heros and many more so I know wat a buff is and I know wat a combat skill is, something maybe you need to understand. DEAL WITH IT!!.

how you don't understand that buffs count as combat skills i don't know.

but to explain it buffs are used in combat to increase your power and combat abilities.

for example i use a buff that increases my max and min damage that is a combat based support skill aka a buff. it may not actually be an attack but its still used in combat and rs is rs they say theres 3 combat skills because they are retarded. and now you know and knowing is half the battle. G.I. JOE!!!!

I think the confusion here is that I am refering to Combat Classes where as you are refering to accual buffs and skills.

Please dont start telling me they are the same thing, buffs and skills are a result of the Class you choose. In the case of Runescape this is accually a little confusing and unstructured.

Weather either of us is correct or not, at least we agree on something......RS SUCKS. Even as a freebie it dosn't cut it.

For everyone who plays Runescape because of the low finance required, I suggest the best Value for money MMO so far is GuildWars. Ok you need to purchase the game to play it but there are no monthly subscription and the gameplay oozes quality.

Yeah runescape does suck. But what if they made an runescape 3 with WoW equivilent graphics and PvP. I think that would rly good.. Has anyone tried that.

For that to happen Jagex Would need to increase the subs or do away with the "non-member" areas.

It would also mean downloading or purchaseing a client because a browser based game wouldn't ever be capable of reaching such a standard.

Probably dosent make financial sense to Jagex. I mean think about it, the persent version of RS is cheap to produce and run. They must be making a fortune from such a large user base. So why would they want the make a new version which will cost them loads to produce and run and will inevitably take players away from the present version of RS.

 All in all it would still suck and I don't think it is possible atm anyway.

I have played Runescape. I played it for about 2 months, then i got sick of the boring repetitive 3 attack skills over and over and over again.    

In my opinion Runescape sucks. It sucks very very very very badly. Terrible graphics, terrible fighting skills, terrible gameplay, terrible clans/guilds, and most of all A TERRIBLE COMMUNITY!!! 

FULL of little b!tchy whiny snobby noobs who repeatedly harrass you and mock you. PLEASE DONT PLAY RS!!! (unless you like crappy MMOs ).

Yeah but what if rs improved the graphics and the PvP and  made an optional clan thing. What wud b rong then. And  even now its a good game for ppl with no  muny. or a bad comp.

I think ppl r prejudice against RS beacuse at the moment it is behind. But wud it still suck if it got a revamp. yeah all u r gunna say yes cuse u just prejudice... well anyway i think its a good idea.

No i wont say "yes" to what you said but i seriously doubt that RS is going to improve. Especially the graphics, because when i played it (which was about 2 years ago) it was practically no different from the way it is now. Sure they may have added a few new quests and guild gizmos and all that whatnot, but that still doesnt change the terrible community. Nothing ever will. Also the fact that when you are put into the game you have absolutely no clue whatsoever what to do. All that tutorial island thing does is show you know to make some cash and chop trees etc.

Has ne1 tried emailing jagex to ask about a RS3?

I dont now why people hate runescape that much, it isnt boring once you have many things to do, i have been playing it since 2005 and havnt been bore with it yet...
and for those who says theres gonna be a RS3... if there is there wont be major upgrades to the graphics, i think that jagex will want to keep it a web based game... but i have to admit, the runescape community is pretty bad...

Hey why dont they have 2 versions. One is browser based and one u kan buy. A bit like an expansion kit. Then ur graphics get upgraded heaps, but not everyone needs to get it.

1.) The community. Scammers, hackers, kids, jackasses, "lolz u wan cyborz???" kind of people. (This board is a good expample)

2.) Gameplay- Fighting takes no effort what-so-ever. Auto-attack and go make a sammich or something.

3.) Horrible customer service.

4.) Very repetetive.

5.) Graphics are bad. Ya, it's a browser-based game. I know that, but a dog turd still smells horrible even if you say "Ya, well it's a dog turd. Wuddya expect?"

6.) The sound is bad.

7.) Small collection of armor.

8.) End-game raids are boring.

9.) PvP is boring. See #2.

10.) You die once and you lose almost everything. There's no getting it back. "Oh, but that's what makes it challenging and makes you think about your actions better!" No. There's a difference between challenging and total Bullsh*t.

11.) Character customization is really bad. You can be a Caster, Warrior, Ranger. That's it. There's no Warlock, Mage, Cleric, Necromancer, Beastmaster, Thief(rogue), Barbarian, Knight, etc.

12.) Too. Much. Clicking. Why can't I move with the arrow keys? Did Jagex make traveling retarded on purpouse?

13.) You have to go through the tutorial every single time you make a toon. Not hard to get through, and not that big of a deal, but why can't I skip it?

14.) The animations are bad.

15.) Filters. There's no way to turn them off. Not that big of a deal, however.

16.) Very few emotes.

17.) Way too much grinding.
