I think Jagex have ruined Runescape with two new updates in November. Bounty Hunter has caused 1000s of players with pures and PKers to quit, with now most of the wilderness being safe, and with the new trade system, you can't even merchant anymore! Law running will be ruined, with more than an 8k difference (over the 3k cap made by Jagex). And Staking is now only limited to 3k, so now you have to play a whole tournament to make a bit of cash. What were Jagex doing?!?! |

There are three kinds of people in the world, those who can count and those who can''t. |
First of all, this belongs in the RuneScape forum. Bounty Hunter is by no means safe. It's actually more dangerous than old wilderness, because you get skulled automatically, there's no place to hide, and there's an indicator above your head that shows how much loot you're carrying. Law running is still possible through the assist system. The purpose of these udpates was to destroy RWT, and I think it's safe to say that it has been successful. |

Gamers who use RMT are like athletes who use steroids. |
Runescape is a cheesy graphically outdated game, so why should anyone care one way or the other. It's truly amazing that anyone bothers to play games like this anymore. Having said that, the trade restrictions they have implemented, not allowing anyone to give items away above a certain value and not allowing trades to be made unless the items and coin involved, from both parties, is within close proximity of value, are brilliant. This is a sure fire way to reduce RMT sales significantly. It also prohibits players from twinking which is a good thing, since everyone should earn their way. It would be wonderful if every MMOG adopted this trade restriction mechanic. It does however require that the developer employ a full time staffer to maintain and update a per server item value database so as not to stifle the player economy. |

I agree that the updates nuked the game, and did not rid themselves of rw trading, There are more ads than ever flooding the net with them selling fully stocked accounts, this did nothing to them because they are just selling more character accounts instead of the items they produce. If anything this will increase the number of bots in order to make up for the time loss from just selling the gold before. This is counterproductive and anyone that is as foolish to think that this will stop the gold farmers is sadly mistaken. All you have to do is search runescape these days and find hundreds of gold sellers selling fully stocked accounts. So now after they ruined the game, they now have to look at other options as well spending more $ and time to stop them from account selling. Btw.. is the same amount of time and effort they would have put forth if they had not made these terrible updates as well. The loss in players atm is not from bots but from law abiding paying players, and over the next month or so I am sure you will see that drop alot more. Those players that have cancelled their memberships are having one last " runescape christmas" before they part ways. For people that have played and loved this game for so many years they do need time to say goodbye to their friends.. and that is exactly what I see happening on the game, not people that are going to be here in 2 months, but people who are giving away their stuff and cleaning their accounts out to hand them back to jagex b4 they leave. |

the majority of the players on runescape were not kids but adults like myself and i personally knew hundreds of adult players on runescape.. The problem is now that they have made the changes the only people left playing will be the kids, most of them younger than the age requirements to play. Jagex has been catering to them so that will be exactly who they have playing it now. Yes the kids with no $. Smart thinking Jagex .. not =x. |

I agree the only good thing about pvp combat in runescape prior to the downdates was the fact you had one player that could do anything during combat, could wear anything during combat, and anything could happen anything goes winner takes all. The unpredictability of what your opponent was going to do is what made it fun.The unpredictability that a clan was going to log in on top of you, or you log into the middle of a clan war was what added to the excitement. They have made the game more predictable, less spontanious outbreaks of chaos = BORING. The ability to be killing dragons for crafting and prayer and then have to fight a clan out of nowhere is what made skilling entertaining. If you wanted to kill dragons on rs without being attacked they had plenty of higher level dragons all over the noncombat areas ALREADY, such as blues in ogre city... Greens were for people who wanted more excitement while training, now it is just another predictable npc area. Bounty hunter is predictable and boring it should be renamed " pile on anyone with a higher colored skull with dds's game" because that is all it is. there is no " hunting " involved, the place is so small you would have to be an idiot not to find people in there... lmao. |
