Game: Star Wars: The Old Republic
Is not a Battleground, is Ilum the open PvP zone with objetives, thats how the RvR will be, just Epic, and we didnt see the Bombers in the video, we will have that too in the RvR zone, At this point i feel sry about gw2 but is game over.
IF that over-dramatic video has ANTHING to do with how battlegrounds (or Open world RVR will be) the game MIGHT have a chance.
However, the jaded gamer in my has seen MANY MANY MANY MANY MANY MANY MANY, *stops to take a breath*, MANY MANY MANY MANY trailers promoting "epic battles" like this only to find out that the battle you just saw in that trailer that was WTFBBQ awesome is nothing more but NPC fluff battles.
IF, and I say with a HUGE jaded *IF, that was 80%+ players & the objectives aren't WoW-type flag control points AND there is ZERO instancing than MAYBE the jaded SWG vets like myself will come out of the shadows JUST for this.
Yeah, cause in the battle grounsd people will slowly walk up to "fallen comrades" and say a prayer, then the enemy will appear and dramatically glare over his lightsaber at you.
That was a canned cinematic movie, the actual gameplay will be bunny hopping and internet goofyness.
hmm interesting, first time i've seen the three main actors from the Cgi trailers appear with the in game graphics. They actually look pretty close to the CGI version.
As for the trailer itself that looks like all in game graphics, now the rocket launcher part i'd go with is in game as they said you can use this to take down the other sides stuff if you should find yourself out numbered (like 200 to 100 and your the 100) and by in game i mean you can actually do that. The parts where they kneel down or those actors i mentioned above is probably part of the ingame cinematic that details what is going on there. However that last place they are fighting on is probably illum which is a PvP planet with some kind of objectives (what they are..no idea)
Yep.

Fri Oct 14 2011 6:20PM ReportThat wasn't a battleground, they were fighting over player housing spots.
