Nice to see a longer CLIP, but if you watched the trooper only seemed to do 1,2,1,2,3,1,2.... Smuggler yeah the cover mechanic was a bit WTF there taking damage. But they did also note after so many hits he could get knocked out. So I am with most of you that the combat "system" is nothing more than a few keys to macro at most.

That particular cover device (the blue sheild) is not the same as if the person jumped behind actual cover.

They stated that if you put up your own cover (the blue shield with lines) that you still take some damage (probably relative to the level of the skill) if your behind the blue cover.  This is suppose to be used when you can't find any natural cover so you can use your cover skills.  However it is always better to find natural cover if you can.

Natural cover (enviromental like hiding behind a fallen pillar) will work as normal (crouched behind the cover you take no damage, standing you take normal damage.

Why is it such a huge problem to some people that trooper shoots full-auto for example many times? Should the shot be every time different and from a different button? Or how should it be better, what game does it better? Is there a game where your char has 16,345 moves so you can do everytime a different move when you attack something, untill after few days you need to start from move 1?

I've played many RPG's FPS's etc and you always have a set of skills and abilities, and you use the same skills and abilities ALOT in every single game I've ever played, so what's the problem? :)

Every game out there gives you a set of abilities and you work with them, all the Firefalls, Arche Ages and GW2's will work like that, you have a set of abilities and you work with them, and you WILL BE using ALOT of same abilities over and over again in those games.

Re. the smuggler cover mechanic being useless, yep it pretty much seems that way. After all the promises about avoiding the obvious issue with sci-fi MMOs involving two people standing 20 feet apart and shooting each other in the face till one health bar runs out, well guess what? Anyway, it all comes down to how much you can suspend your disbelief with obviously silly things like that going on. Thankfully, I think the jedi lightsabre deflection and the heavily armoured classes should seem more credible when being blastered repeatedly. That said, gimme gimme gimme!!

Fresh take on the story line but I think it will get very old very fast,  I do like story lines but do not really want to be forced into them when I just want to play the game.

Graphics look decient but the voice overs all seem a bit monotone.

Game play looks very clustered, hard to tell who is who and what everyone is doing.

Star wars fans will be fanatical about this game while gamers will be put off by the dirrected story line.  Hopefully the game opens up ALOT and lets gamers do what they want to do and not  be dirrected down a straight line.

All in all I would rate this game 3.5 out of 5 stars just from the clip alone.

Maybe because they wanted to create a MMO that people can play on low end machines without lag or frame rate issues and thus make it accessable to a larger audience?

I remember the last time a MMO purposefully went with low end graphics so that more people could easily play it.  The company was called Blizzard, you may have heard of them.  I think they're doing all right now.

I fully understand that they don't want high end rigs to be required in order to play it but when a 8 year old game looks better there are simply no excuses. Now graphics alone isn't as essential as in some other genres but even the gameplay looks boring, like a slightly updated version of KOTOR without pause gunction that is. Sorry from what I have seen so far it doesn't cut it but I suspect the IP will give it a period of grace. Time will tell.
