Yes Revan and Malak are in KoToR 1.

After watching this video.. I am so much more excited to play this than before.

ok then keep revan a good guy in a canon way now, but from what I remember revan took the sith way to change the republic because something, a bigger threath would come to the know galaxy and the way the republic was everything would be destroyed, Kotor2 mention this, in revan command he keep all factorys and all suport system intacts for later use, malak in other hand just wanted power and rule over all, and destroyed everything in his path, motive after the war he leave and then start kotor 2 with the exile a lot of that part of the history are not old to us and things are open to interpretation of happen or not happen, but the exile also follow revan in his former ship and the same R2.

ps. revan was the jedi civil war? its was not a previous war?

Kotor 2 is not considered Canon because Bioware didnt make it. They are only using Kotor 1 and building on that story.

This game is going to be amazing, at E3 i hope they show some more star war's clip's.

Could Revan have fallen a second time or could that have been his plan all along? He was a tactical genius, remember....perhaps that is what happened to him in the unknown regions.

Ha, I just played through Kotor, like, 3 times in the last 3 weeks.

Kotor 2 was made by obsidian, I think. Not bioware.

Alsop, this takes place several hundred years after Kotor. I'm pretty sure anyway :3

They are doing some things of Kotor 2 (stated by writers), but it is obvious they're putting in their own canon here.

The explanation is that Kotor 2 happened mostly behind the shadows and the events weren't really made public.

KOTOR 2 is still recognized as canon regardless of who made the game.

Bioware has already proven so far they are not following the Star Wars canon so it shouldn't be a surprise that they aren't adding KOTOR 2 canon material so far.

Slightly revisionist history given the fall of the pair. Not that I mind so much, as it creates a greater sense of forboding to give the evil empire more depth than just a looming threat.
