Most will probably bypass all the text, but the summary of what I am about to describe is a possible method to fix faction imbalance and lack of objectives on Ilum. I just wanted to know if my ideas are any good. 1) Combinations of Turret Defense and Objectives in a match of 70 imps vs 30 republics an ops leader can activate an activation alert, that triggers an invitation from enemy ops leader to spawn their NPC, once both team agrees and a 2 minute warning a NPC will spawn. Leader of each ops controls which three path your NPC travels, you have 1 minute to get in position each player can activate a cannon turret( 15 seconds to activate ), but once its activated the player's only job is to aim at enemy boss npc. ( like in flash point wargame) So basically you lose a player's strength because he is stuck at turret cannon duty. ( max cannons activated with no one protecting or fighting based on number of players, so 70 players 70 cannons ) Boss NPC can not be destory by enemy players, only by cannons activated by a player character. In a outnumbered match, the faction with the least number of players will have additional boss npcs ( example : 3 to 1 match, underdog spawns 3 boss npcs, and enemy has 1, but each npc for underdog is buffed 25% , while enemy is debuffed 15% or something like that based on number of imbalances) Game objective - Boss NPC needs to go from one point to another, and if they meet enemy npc half way they will each attack and destroy one another. Bonus: items on the map that can be collected to boost the strength of your cannon fires but they will be protected by NPC, So its like those valor buffs we get, the more we collect, the higher the damage of the cannons are. But bonus has diminishing returns so it gets used up. ( eg. each collected bonus gets fired 3 times ) I figure that 70 imperials, 30 are cannons, 20 collects bonuses, 20 attacks our cannons, because we have three bosses, one will intercept enemy boss, and because we are stronger, ours will win, so they need cannon to back their up, but 15 of them will have to destroy the other 2 bosses, so bigger number of one factions the harder they need to work together.
So where is the World PVP, its at the destroying enemy cannons, and getting that bonus buff before enemy players does. And because killing another player is not necessary, people will be focusing on attacking enemy boss npc, but if enemy destroies the cannons, it will take 30 seconds to respawn and 15 seconds to activate, therefore wasting valuable time especially when the enemy boss npc is already pass the range of that cannon. Even if the enemy that is 70 players zerg the 30 players, the 30 player will still win, because their npc will still reach the objective point. since we cover all 3 path, and enemy npc only cover 1 path. So the only way for them to win is to send 30 players to destroy enemy cannons, and 40 become cannons, but due to the increase strength of the enemy NPC they have to collect the bonus buff, and they need to destroy the other two npc. ( cannons can be positioned how ever you want, so its not set in stone, but takes 30 seconds to set, 15 seconds to activate, but once activated its on all the time )
