Most MMO companies dont just "restore" your crap. At least they are giving you 3 gimmies every 6 months. Hell if your making more then 3 every six months then maybe you should try conentrating on what the frick your doing. |

What they mean is that they can only offer the service to restore items 3 times in 6 months, not that its only 3 items every 6 months. Though tbh I was quite put off by this as I accidently decomposed a light saber I had recently brought with hard earned tokens so I was pretty pissed about that but meh, in the end I decided it wasn't worth taking up the service for. I have to admit, at least they do offer this, some companies won't. |

I got the NR neck from cenerian rep in WoW replaced after I vendered it not realizing I needed it (a month or so later). I was informed by blizzard that they only restore items once per account and that is it. They might have changed policy now but that was the policy back in vanilla at least.
So why the QQ? |

The QQ is because SWTOR is the new MMO to hate on. These complaints are getting ridiculous and pathetic. |

Originally posted by brutality123 Actually t have never known blizzard not to restore items that have been lost accidentally or deliberately. Each case on its own merit though and dubious customers are probably warned like any other company would do. On a side note Blizzard has the best customer service I have known they employ people directly in the USA and the EU to look after us fullstop, non of this out-sourced to a developing country crap. |

Facinating, I never knew MMO's would offer to restore your items if a player was at fault for making a mistake. I've had items restored when my son's WOW account got hacked, and once in EVE they gave me a ship back that I lost because I didn't realize shooting a ship in fleet would get me Concorded.
Back in the early days of MMO's (L1, L2, DAOC, etc) companies would make you eat your mistakes, so I guess this is an area WOW brought some changes.
So I think offering 3 restores every 6 months is pretty sweet and I'll have to commend them.

This is why i love EvE... The GM's just laughs at that kind of request, unless it can actually be traced to know bug. Even then, thet might still tell you it was your own fault. GOTTA LOVE THAT. |

Originally posted by BartDaCat I'm not interested in debunking your statement, or anything you say. You're hardly worth my time. As others have already stated....past MMOs (and many current ones) made you eat your mistakes. And yes, I'm afraid the only answer I can come up with is the factual answer. I'll not stoop to your level and make shit up. Oh, and your avatar is SO scary...you pick that out yourself? |

Originally posted by chopgr In WoW it used to be 3 times / lifetime. Not sure if They changed it these days, but that was Their policy 2 years ago. If You loose Your items more than once every 2 months You really should re-think what You are doing. Over my 6 years in WoW i used the item restoration only once and it was for vanity item i was just to lazy to grind back. |

CHa chaaaa. Thats nothing, in my case, I have received that same reply on my question "Hello, I actidentally bought two SWTOR digital download from origin, can you please help me to cancel one" So I think, in you case, the reply had atleas the sence.
Never more SWTOR, NEVER! |

I dont think the policy is that bad to be honoust, but so far I find their (IG) support underwhelming, the slowest for sure, 4 weeks and still waiting for their reply. I opened a few tickets in game and through their support section on their site and other then the automated response from their site, I have yet to hear anything. I want too thrilled about them when they deleted one of my tickets without any word. I havent encountered worst support in any mmo Ive played so far, but Ill reserve my final judgement till I actually get a response from them. I might change my mind then. |

If you people think THIS policy is bad - try getting items restored in almost ANY other game. Until now WOW had pretty much the most lenient policy - many companies will not restore at all. Heck, it took LOTRO nearly FIVE years to come up with a semi-viable restoral policy! |

Originally posted by Paithan Sadly, this has been my experience as well. The policy seems reasonable, IF you can get an actual response. I've been sitting on one ticket for over a month, another ticket for a week, and inquiries for follow-up have been ignored and "closed". Not for lack of effort to be polite, clear, and concise in my follow-up tickets. I wrote Bioware's headquarters and gave them the ticket numbers, and informed them about the in-game response I have received (or lack thereof), I can only hope they beef up their CS team and do some proper training.

Originally posted by chopgr There was a limit. The hacked account restorations didn't count twoards it, but if You lost/destroyed item Yourself and wanted it restored They clearly said They can only do it 3 times and asked if You are really sure You want to restore that specific item. The reasonign behind limit it so people don't constantly sell and restore some pricy item for unlimited money. |

also, to add to the "their customer service sucks" debacle:
I had a quest bug and couldn't complete it for some reason, so I sent a ticket at an odd hour (way way off primetime). within 20 minutes I got a message: "Hello, this is r2-d2, I'm here to assist" in about 10 minutes, the customer support guy/girl resolved my issue and I was back to playing the game -he/she was polite -role played as a droid the entire time -slow typer, but helpful
overall, I'd say it was a good and very unique experience. the only other time I had such a quick response was in Eve Online
Life chat with a role playing customer service rep -> awesome possum |

Originally posted by lalartu That was a fortunate experience indeed. Originally posted by Valua Go into their item replacement page in the report ticket page and read for yourself, It clearly says if you accidentally buy the wrong item with commendations you can have it replaced/refunded but you are only allowed to do this 3 times in any given 6 month period. Anyone who does it more then once anyways deserves to lose commendations/armor tokens at the point. You fault a game for implementing a rule to prevent abuse/carelessness? Whos to say someone didnt get an upgrade on a raid a few nights after dropping commendations on another armor piece and decided "I'll just lie and say i got the wrong item to get something else for me/my companion". Its a good system. Take your time buying stuff and you wont have to worry about anything. |
