In short: You still really want the item replaced? That procedure will only happen 3 times every 6 months and is account universal (not character or even server).

The management of this MMO keeps sliding from bad to worse. 

Does not bode well for whatever future is left for the game.

Limits like these are very frequently imposed by mmo companies.  Most have a limited number of restores you can do in a time period and there are certain conditions where they will not restore items.

Most allow "free" restores if it is caused by a known bug or issue, but if you vendored your epic lightsaber of pwnsauce then it is entirely your fault.  These things should count against your limit.

I know for a fact that Blizzard imposes a limit on their restorations, because I've done it a few times. They always warn you that this will count against your restore limit.

I think Blizzards policy when I was playing was actually 5 restores in a year, which is more restrictive then this.  

Perhaps you've never had to restore an item in an MMO before?

He/she speaks the truth, I don't really post here often but I had an issue on a character and accidentally reconverted all my mercenary commendations without thinking to look at the title of sale. Ended up wasting 400 mercenary commendations worth and taking a huge loss in those. Submitted a ticket about a week ago and got the same reply recently concerning the limitation of 3 times over a 6 month period.

Can't exactly post a screen now at the moment with the patch/maintenance currently going on but it is indeed true. If you really want a screenshot I can attempt to provide one later today when the servers are back online. 

Wait... you actually got an item restored?  I submitted a ticket a month ago, got a form-letter response informing me that my issue was being forwarded to another department for investigation, then I never saw another word about it.

I'm trying to figure out what non-English speaking country EA chose to make the home base for their STWOR Customer Service Center, because half the time my ticket responses are practically unreadable because of the overwhelming spelling errors...

 ...Unless of course it's a form-letter, and then THAT is usually addressing some issue I never wrote about in the first place.

BartDaCat  at the moment I do not have the items restored. Currently the ticket closed but said I needed to respond within 48 hours of their notification if I wanted them restored. I opened a new ticket saying I would like to have my mercenary commendations restored and listed my previous ticket number to them. Only time will tell to see if they will actually restore my items. 

You can't buy back warzone commendations as you already converted your 30 mercenary commendations for 10 warzone commendations. Therefore you take a loss on those items and are unrecoverable. I have already attempted to view the buyback but given I believe it is just a different form of item "currency" there is no way to recover from such an error.

why is this a bad thing? I'd understand if a player was hacked and lost items but if someone sold something or trashed items then its all on them. I won't fault any game for carelessness of the players.

Unless of course it's an item that someone's Crew Skill can "reverse engineer", and you accidentally click the button on your tiny, unscaleable interface on a 30" monitor because that button pops up on the screen in the same position as the "Greed" button normally appears, and there is no confirmation to inform you that you're about to destroy the item, and your group is plowing along through the content, so you;re trying to clear your screen so you can tank/heal/fight/etc.

merc and wz currency is easily replaced anyway.

simple fix is kill then loot vs. kill and loot at same time. Yeah its an inconvenience but if you wanna do smash and grab runs then there will always be a chance for stupid mistakes. Voice your opinions on the official forums and  till then work with what you have.

merc and wz currency is easily replaced anyway.

That is true they can be easily replaced but that still takes time to regain over time unless of course you grind out a few days, also can potentially depend on the amount of time you dedicate to this game.

I will be glad to see their new addition of confirmation when purchasing items (think its coming in this current maintenance/patching day). I agree that human error is usually the players fault but I was notified  by a guild member that it was possible to attempt so I decided to try anyways.

Low and behold I had the same notification as the OP therefore I decided to help he/she back up their claim concerning this issue from another poster disbelieving the response of a swotr in game rep.

Agreed. A company can only idiot proof a game so much. The rest is the responsibility of the player. If the item is that important, then slow the frig down and take your time when dealing with your inventory. 

MMOs can't cater to every idiot who plays their game.  I was rather surprised to learn that BioWare offered Restore at all.  When I discovered this, my opinion of them went up a few notches.  In every other MMO i've played, people had to eat their mistakes. Zero restore.

Been playing MMOs since 1999. More than you can count, which would be around two dozen.
