The ultimate goal of the Brotherhood is the destruction of the Republic and their Jedi protectors. In order to achieve this, the Brotherhood has been directed to begin recruitment and training of elite members of Imperial Society, both Sith and non-Sith.

The Brotherhood operates primarily as an autonomous organization that is not dependent on the assets of the Empire in order to carry out its activities. Within its own command structure, the Brotherhood scours the Galaxy in search of both future potential members as well as artifacts and objects of power that can be used for training or increasing the likelihood of victory over the Republic.
