I know Bioware are desperately trying to cut the delay between 'icon activation' and 'delivery of special action' hbut something seems to have gone tits up after today's patch. Have they slowed down the rate at which the combat icons now refresh? To give the illusion that the gap between 'activation' and 'delivery' has been lessened? If so, it's ridiculous. It just means that player combat speed is slowed down while NPC combat speed remains the same - meaning we get our arses handed to us more often. |

For some odd reason, this came to my mind when I read your post: |

I am so glad I waited to respond to this because to be honest when I first saw this topic I figured it was a silly notion. However, upon logging into the game it does indeed seem this is the case. I don't think it will lead to what you imply OP but it is a rather interesting development. Surprised really more haven't commented on it. 1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical. 2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself. 3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose. |

Combat isn't actually slowed down.
It's the same speed it always was, it's just tha now your cast bars actually reflect the rate a which you can cast. Your animation no longer takes longer to complete thanthe cast bar. The cast was always dependent on the animation an the cast bar. The issue was that the animation o some abilities were longer than the cast timer for that ability. So before, the cast bar might have said 1.5 seconds on an affected cast, but the animation took 2 seconds. This meant you couldn't cast again for two seconds. Now the cast bar is timed more closely to the end of the animation, so that when your cast bar ends, you can cast again or move without canceling the cast. The actual amount oftime it takes to finish the ability is the same, your combat is not slowed down at all. My live Stream:www.twitch.tv/dubyahite

If it contains the words video and game, it must be a WOW clone. |

Like wicked I've waited to comment until I see it (which I haven't played yet), it would not suprise me if they did do that. The last fix :intense combat" IMO seemed to slow the entire client down by a milisec or two.. I thought I might just be crazy though. For every minute you are angry , you lose 60 seconds of happiness."-Emerson If you can't argue the point don't say anything at all. |

Nah after further playing it just appears that way because the icons on your hotbar are "faded" so it gives the appearance you cannot use them yet. You still can though. Odd change but overall if it is delayed it is to a degree I don't notice. Rather odd they went that route though because it does appear at first like you cannot use the abilities. You still can though while they're "faded". If there's a better way to explain it you got me...heh 1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies.
