So when I'm not messing around here I cheak in on the Offical EU SWTOR forums...

The general discussion is mostly filled with Unhappy post about this and that.. And the threads are constatly being bombarded with "happy fanboys" making sly and negative remarks about the Poster....

So how many think conspiracy theory? the defence post mostly feel the same, kinda Robotic, like somone sticking to a set guidline on how the Defence argument should be written... They repeat the same mantras over and over.. I smell a Ratt..

What do you all think??

I know we have few Biotrolls here also... and If your game tanks .. remeber I told you so... (honestly you are not that hard to spot)

As if there isn't enough conspiracy theories going around, you have to dream up another one, lol.

Guess I work for BioWare then? lol. You've found me out!!! Oh NOES!!  My careful plan to 'play the beta and be disappointed as a set up to my eventual turning into someone who likes the game' has been uncovered!  Guess I better /delete account and start over.

So because you do not enjoy something you automatically assume that everyone else hates and and it has no fans? Get a grip and come on back down to reality.

You could say the exact same thing about all the negative comments you see on the game. "oh well i see the same complaints over and over again, it's like blizzard paid a bunch of people, gave them a how to hate swtor guide, and told me to go to town" cwutididther.

Current game: MLB The Show

Awaiting: Archeage

past games: EQ, EQ2, DAOC, SWG VG, WAR, FFXI, FFXIV, GW, AoC, WoW, EVE, rift, DF, DCUO, Entropia, SWTOR.

-_-

I give that about as much credence as when those wackos accuse you of working for Blizzard or some other game company for purposely slandering their product when you bring up issues, concerns, or problems with the game.

No...I don't think so...

Besides if they don't care for what is being said they simply lock the thread or delete the post.

They're around in every game. Probably the same ones that were around when AOC launched and said the launch was going really well, weren't any issues, and the game would dethrone WoW.

1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical.

2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself.

3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose.

I actually think you might be on to something here also..... Alot of things feels very off with all of this... its just to many conflicting Posts..

My main Reason for not liking SWTOR is, I dont like game on rails, I think developers are making Slotmachine/mouse-wheel games that prey on weak willed people. They are to affraid of what might happen if they put the players in control... I mean we Held CCP hostage this summer, forcing them to change Policy.. what company really wants its consumers to be able to control them and not the other way around???

I personaly think WoW is the ROOT of this Evil, I dont think blizzard entended it to be this way, but they have basicly ruined all AAA titles the past decade.. Money hungry devs think they invented the holy grail or something and are Rampently copying them at every step.. Its SAD to be honest. And the few indy companies like swedish developed Mortal online (starvault) stand little chans to make it.. EvE wasent much diffrent then MO when it launched but the times were diffrent and the game got a chans.. These days Indy companies stand little to no chans to get players or Investors due to the "WoW factor" this is not good for the genre and its not good for us players.. Diversity and Innovation is what makes progress, Not stagnation and repetetive behavior...

A Wind of change is badly Needed in this MMO industry

Ps: Point im trying to make is that I have nothing against SWTOR as a game, Im against what it stands for, the concept behind it... BGs, Instances, Gear grind, Linear world, Zero ways for the player to Impact the world.. the bussnise philosophy they are using to make pleople pay 15 bucks a month etc... If the game was free to play I wouldent say anything about it.. But I feel these theampark/mouswheel games come very close to "SCAMING"

It is called viral marketing something SOE started. Now any AAA developer is going to have a Viral Marketing Dept.

Just the way it is.

I actually have a friend that use to do it for a job got paid to hype his game, bash other games, and flame anyone that made a negative post about his game.

I find it dishonest as hell, but hey all advertising is 90% BS.

One of the biggest problems I have with viral marketing isn't the act itself, its the impact that it has on forums like these.  By that, I mean it becomes way to easy to simply accuse someone who likes a game that you don't, or that doesn't like a game that you do as being a shill/viral marketer.

I agree... and it makes it very hard to get any straight Facts about anything... and we as Consumers are the once paying the price...

It wouldn't surprise me, but not because of the company, most companies do a certain amount of this type of thing. Even reputable 'middle-men' sites like Newegg and Amazon will moderate their ratings systems and contact individuals who have posted negatively about a product. I have a RL friend who had this happen, and they contacted him, and offered him a refund to delete the negative post.

So if newegg is trolling their product ratings I don't doubt a MMO company would do the same thing for their own product. But Bioware can't contact individuals and simply pay them to keep quiet, so they might hire people to be positive on the boards.

Happens to me all the time on forums with games. Regardless whether I'm playing it or not I have no problem still pointing out issues or areas the game is lacking in. I have been called a shill on several occasions.

Wish I was getting paid for it. Would be nice to get paid money simply for being honest and objective about whatever it is I enjoy playing anyways.

Who here thinks that other MMO's don't troll Bioware's site plopping down as many complaints as possible trying to keep their steady paycheck coming in......WOW lost + 3 million players last year and are projected to lose more this year.....Do you think that they didn't hit the competitions forums hard with baseless drivel......Are you blind?  Do you think that Corporations don't have people posting their talkpoints/ propoganda on sites like CNN and MSN dot coms.  Look up the word NAIVE....You know, the word most bottled tap. er um  i mean spring bottled water companies call EVIAN (backwards).

If it contains the words video and game, it must be a WOW clone.

This really has nothing to do with viral marketing, it's simply human weakness and an inability to be "wrong" that causes this. If you can't argue a point attack and discredit the source through any means possible.

If you can't argue the point don't say anything at all.

Players come for the game, but they stay for the people- Most Devs have forgotten this.

I very much have a problem with the act itself.

Planting fake posters on opinion forming forums in order to manipulate users into a false perception?

Yeah, the act itself is pretty shitty.

Sorrow, I wouldn't use the term 'viral marketing' for it specifically though, I use the word 'shill'.

(I also do not think you can lay the invention of shilling at SOE's door... they are guilty of a lot of BS, but thats a step too far)
