It's great to see the old cast back.  This will lend some credibility to the new movies.

 

As for Abrams...

IMO, Cloverfield was the worst movie ever made, but he also worked on the new Star Trek and Super 8, which were great movies.  He's really hit and miss for me, so let's see if he can deliver something of value this time.

and AFAIK , cloverfield was a pretty low budget movie

form that perspective, its a pretty good little movie

 

We are forgetting her role in the blues brothers !! So funny ex-wifey gets jiggy with a grenade launcher :) Oh and speaking of movies Mark Hamill's role in Jay and Silent Bob strike back , so funny :).

I hope they do get all 3 back in , it's a yes vote.

Not all of the old cast members bashed Star Wars. Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, and others will just add to the experience. And Cloverfield? I am sorry, but there are plenty of small budget films that were overall better and more frightening. There was no partt of Cloverfield that wasn't terrible.

for me JJ abrahams is hit and miss

LOVE fringe, one of the best tv shows ever (along with breaking bad, the wire and game of thrones)

okay you didnt like cloverfield, but a lot of others did,, the same will prolly be the case with the new star wars

they cant make everybody happy anyway,, so they will just try to please the biggest crowd

Hate is a strong word. Yes, they all joked about it... even Alec Guiness said he thought it would fail... but if they actually hated it, they would have never been a part of it. So yeah, they joked and teased, but hated? That's a gross exaggeration.

okay perhaps hated is too strong

but compare ford in indiana jones and blade runner to his performance in star wars

but perhaps that was lucas messing it up

anyhow, i hope they dont use the old cast for more than passing the torch
